Out and About - A Day In The Life Of My College Self

First off the 15th of this month saw one of my good friends, Sophie, turn 21! Yey! She has finally caught me up and joined the adult club but, as we discussed, we both still feel about 16...

I met Sophie when I was in college back in 2008 (which seems a hell of a long time ago now) and she is one of the only people from my whole education life that I am still in contact with.

A group of us that all found each other while taking ND photography at Newcastle, used to spend more time going to the cinema and trying to find fun, free stuff to do in the town, than we did on our actual course.(Not our fault! haha) Which is where our love for The Discovery Museum started.

Unfortunately, Sophie and Gracie moved to Manchester meaning only having seen each other a handful of times in the last couple years but as soon as Soph said she was going to be in town to celebrate her birthday we had to meet up!
First port of call was obvious. The Discovery Museum! We had a catch up and a laugh, probably acting more excitable than any kids in the place. The best news I got was that shes moving back north :) This makes me happy because I really can count all my friends on one hand and don't get to leave my flat much. I look forward to lots more museum adventures and hopefully some mini summer road trips (car and job permitting).

I'll leave you with a few pictures from our latest outing. x

It's My Life - My Bucket List

I've occasionally seen things online or heard things that others have done and thought, 'I'd quite like to do that' but I have never sat down and actually thought about what I would like to accomplish in life before I die.
Watching Karl Pilkington in the second series of  'An Idiot Abroad' was a great insight to some of the things people consider to be a once in a lifetime experience also proving that what one person may find a thrill, another finds a horror.
Bare in mind I am only 21 and should have many years left to do whatever it is I come up with, here is my list:

1 - Skydive. [DONE!]
(Starting off with something I already have booked and will most defiantly be able to check off my list. Originally it was a 21st birthday treat from my Dad. The training was attended and I was hyped to jump but 3 times due to high winds it was cancelled. :( Sad times. I’m hoping to get it done in the next couple months though, especially with the weather getting better! Check out my Just Giving page for sponsorship details as I aim to raise as much money as possible for the amazing Ape rescue center, Monkey World, in Dorset.)

2 - Go to every Disney resort in the world. 1 down. 5 to go.

3 - (To the displeasure of my Mother) Get many more tattoos.
4 - Own my dream farmhouse in the south west countryside.
5 - Raise and Train a Border Collie as well as my Granda did.
6 - (To the displeasure of my other half) Become reasonably fluent in another language. Spanish or Portuguese, preferably.
7- Compete in a Jiu Jitsu tournament.
8 - Learn to Skateboard. I have the best teacher!

9 - Ride a horse.
10 - Go on a super long road trip.
11 - Travel to all 7 continents.
12 - Eventually overcome my dislike of children crying/ making unnecessary noise and have one of my own.
13 - Be the best housewife ever.
14 - Stay alcohol free for the rest of my life.
15 - Learn to cook properly.
16 - Work on a farm driving a tractor/combine harvester.
17 - Become semi self-sufficient. Solar/wind power, grow own food etc.
18 - Go on a Snowboarding holiday, staying in a log cabin. In Canada.
19 - Get back into a good fitness routine.
20 - Find out alot more about my family tree, as far back as I can.
21 - Walk over hot coals.
22 - Visit the Playboy Mansion.
23 - Attend a UFC event in Las Vegas.

24 – Survive a Zombie infestation.
25 – Do all the popular outdoor activities. Eg. Zorbing, Paintball, Rock Climbing.
26 – See beautiful wild animals in their natural habitat on an African Safari.
27 – Have a room in my house completely ‘floored’ and ‘wallpapered’ with mattresses and filled with pillows so I can literally dive into bed.
28 – Be an extra in a film.
29 – Feed a Lamb.
30 – Drive a Bugatti Veyron.
31 – Get a reading from a physic medium.
32 – Buy and rent out property.
33 – Go on a proper camping trip, complete with campfire and ghost stories.
34 – Make a friend...
35 – Have a ‘Lost’ style experience on a desert island. (Maybe minus the actual plane crash though.)
36 – Get better skin.
37 – Climb a massive tree.
38 – Overcome a fear. But not my one of butterflies ‘cause I think they’re pointless anyways.
39 – Win. At something. Anything. Preferably the lottery...
40 – Meet a real life pirate.
41 – Make my own homemade ice cream and bread.
42 – Visit the Harry Potter attraction seeing as I’m too old for my letter inviting me to join Hogwarts to arrive now.
43 – Stay with that one special person forever.
44 – Fire a gun.
45 – See Animal Testing abolished completely worldwide. [Sign the Lush petition here!]
46 – Get my teeth straightened.
47 – Keep updating this blog regularly with interesting posts.
48 – Photograph an MMA event and have my photographs published or be employed by the UFC.

49 – Stay overnight in a haunted house.
50 – Donate a considerable amount and/or help with animal charities.

Phew! There we have it. It only took me around 36 hours but I have finally completed my bucket list. Admittedly there a few ‘silly’ additions to build it up to the big 50…
Have you got a bucket list? Or considered writing one? If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. If you have, I’d love to read them so please share in the comments!  (They are open to the public to comment even if you don't follow this blog) Thanks for reading and I hope my list inspires you J

As usual Im not 100% happy with them, but whats new.

And here are a couple from the same little girl's birth shoot...

How much has she changed in such a short space of time?!

I'll have another post up in a few days, expect a treat - My bucket list!

Currently Obsessed V.1 !

I am a very 'that is so last week' type of girl when it comes to many things I take an interest in. That said I thought a great feature for the blog would be about my recent obsessions!
A couple months back I went though a phase of being deadly serious that I wanted to take up sword swallowing... Yeah you read that right. Rediculous. Compleltly mental. But if anyone had said that to me I'd of argued back, I have to come to the conclusion myself that a certain hobby is not for me. I researched online about it, figures and facts, even started 'training' myself to lose my gag reflex by sitting with a teaspoon down my throat while watching TV in an evening. Goodness, looking back I must of seemed a loon. Haha! I really would like to be a sword swallower and join the Circus of Horrors but in reality how possible is that when I gag wearing a gum shield.

Anyways, very recently the app 'Instagram' has come to Android!

Yey! I love my HTC and was pretty chuffed when I was able to download the app. For those unfamiliar to Instagram, it began in October 2010 as a free photo sharing app exlusive to iPhones. As of this month the program was availible to Android users via Google Play racking up over another one million downloads in 12 hours to its existing 30 million users.
I like to take photos of everyday life to keep a kind of picture diary to look back at, usually sharing on twitter and facebook, but I find instagram a great place to keep this all separte and share some of my actual photography with a different audience.
However, on April 9th of this year the giant social network that is Facebook announced its purchase of the independant company, with its tiny workforce of 13, for a staggering $1 billion! Many long time fans and users have since considered the deletion of their accounts fearing the mainstream destination that Instagram is heading towards. Once Facebook gets its hands on Instagram, it will very shortly be able to be used online rather than just on smart phones which will secure another immense increase in traffic. Already hundereds of celebratys and the like have public accounts, allowing fans a look inside their world similarly to the twitter craze but will this ruin the Instagram community for good or will it phase out just like past social networking websites, Bebo and Myspace.
I'm going to enjoy it as it lasts anyways, like I say I'll most probably of found something new to play with in a week or two.
My username is theSweetnessD , feel free to come and have a spy if you're interested!

It's My Life - 10 Things I Love About You

I've seen this feature on a couple different blogs and decided I'd try it out myself.

So here goes - 10 Things I Love About YOU Mr Jake Beacham :)

In no particular order..

1. That you skate. I love watching you and get all proud of you. I like watching skate videos with you and trying to take in your wisdom (although its alot harder than expected). :P

2. How you call me 'pet names', like 'Dear', 'Babe' and especially 'Dearest'. I can't help but grin at it.

3. All the little random things we have in common. For example the video games we played when we were younger, the films we like and humor we enjoy, to the hobbies we can share like watching MMA together.

4. Your general appearance. Ha, that might sound nasty to some people but its common knowledge that I'll admit to being superficial. Appearance and style are the first thing you notice about a person and you are perfect. My dream man, exactly 'my type'.

5. I don't need to say much more than - Your accent <3

6. You always keep a promise. You come home, the time you said you would.

7. We get on so well. You really are my best friend and a day doesn't go by that I don't smile or laugh because of you. Obviously there's the odd little disagreement, just like everyone else but its not 5 minutes before were joking and talking in our funny voices again. Haha!

8. I adore that you don't treat me any different in front of other people. It doesn't matter who you're with or where you are, you always, ALWAYS tell me you love me, hold my hand and give me kisses. As I've told you I've never been touchy feelly or lovey dovey and you have completely transformed me into a soppy fool!

9. That you are addicted to tea! I may occasionally roll my eyes when I go make you a cup but at least its better than alcohol eh ;)

10. This wasn't as hard as I though and now I don't know what to put as the last item on this list!
Hmm. That fact that you don't care what others think meaning that you act silly and do funny embarrassing things, its the best.

So there it is. The worlds most cringy, cheesy, soppy blog post ever. Especially dedicated to my favorite person in the whole wide world ever.  I'd love to read other peoples posts of this feature and find new blogs to subscribe to, so feel free to comment or get in touch with links!

It's My Life - Numbers

4.8.15.16.23.42

Fans of the epic TV series 'Lost' will know all about these. And I'm obsessed with them.
I've now watched the full 6 series' twice after convincing my man that he needed to see them! I think and hope that he enjoyed the show as much as me. I would easily consider it to be the best TV show of all time. Ever.

I've probably well over thought it but I seem to think that all of the numbers, minus one, have a significant meaning to me. Maybe I'm just trying to hard and they aren't such significant things after all but I'll list them anyways.

4 - The 4th of September 2011 is the date that my love and I became 'official'.  <3

8 - It was the 8th month of 2011 when my life took a big change in direction, which was very much welcomed. I was freed from a bad past, started to see old friends more, made new friends and moved out of the run down town that I'd lived in all my life.

15 - Is the date in December that my Mammy was born. I know for a fact not all people would consider this but, since I have moved out especially, I'm quite close with my parents. (This is where my reasons start to lack slightly I guess ha)

16 - Jake's Birthday. <3

23 - This has (for as long as i can remember) been my favorite/lucky number. I'm in love with the Jimmy Eat World song and hope that when I reach that age I will be on the right track in life.

42 - This is where I am stumped. I assume that the number will mean something sooner or later, so I'll keep an eye out for it.

What do you think? Can anyone else relate to all the 'Lost Numbers'. Hurley thought the numbers were bad, I think different.... :)

Namaste!
