Maybe be you weren't aware from the vast amounts of Disney or cute animal pictures on this blog, but I am in fact a girl! Shock horror!
I myself actually brought up the subject over at bloggers the other day that I haven't been able to find many other female bloggers that don't just blog about fashion and make up. Now, I have nothing against beauty bloggers, but I'm really not interested in just reading reviews of products and looking at countless 'OOTD's. That being said - there are obviously many people who do enjoy that type of thing. So I thought I'd include my favorite girly items as a Top 5 post. Enjoy.
Lush - Tea Tree Toner Tab
I love tea tree! Known for its antibacterial qualities its perfect for my problematic skin. I've been a long time user of tea tree oil and the like but I tried these toner tabs for the first time last year and used one before a weekly fresh face mask (also from Lush!). It not only made my skin soft to the touch but it felt super clean and fresh.
To be honest I am a big fan of most Lush products. The fact that everything is fresh, handmade and no ingredients are tested on animals alongside the high quality of everything makes them my favorite brand.
Urban Decay - Naked Palette
I'm sure that anyone has ever used an Urban Decay eye shadow will agree they are awesome. The pay-off is excellent and the colours in this palette are exactly right for everyday use. There is now a 'squeal' to the palette, Naked Palette 2! Again, as with Lush, Urban Decay's products are also free from animal cruelty.
Soap and Glory - 'Off Your Face'- Cleansing Cloths
When it comes to taking my make up off at the end of the day I am a big failure. Probably half the reason why my skin is so temperamental. I also use the Soap and Glory Face Soap foaming face wash which works nicely with my combination skin. These wipes are pretty pricey for a pack of 25 at £4.50! I like them alot though, luckily I have an awesome Mam who gets me a pack now and then so I have a constant supply and keeping them next to my bed reminds me to use them!
Benefit - Play Sticks Cream to Powder Foundation
This type of foundation is a godsend. The coverage of a liquid with the lightness and finish of a powder. Love it! I've used the Maybelline Dream matte mouse and liked the texture and coverage of that but later found that they are not cruelty free (see a pattern here?) hence having to find a replacement!
[Another benefit product that I use everyday is the Brow Zings!]
St Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish Fighting
My most recent addiction is thanks to the many YouTube beauty gurus who speak highly of it. I thought, 'How great can it actually be?', but was pleasantly surprised to find its fast effects. The best facial exfoliator I've come across so far.
So there it is, probably the most difficult post I've ever had to write. There isn't much to really be said about cosmetics in my eyes. As long as they are animal friendly and work for me I'm happy. Cute packaging is a plus too!
