As soon as I turned 18 I got my first tattoo. I didn't put any thought into it at all, and picked something off the wall. It is a butterfly that I have on my chest, and I hate it now!
It will be covered up in the near future with a beautiful cameo chest piece that I have picked out. Shortly after that I got a heart on my ankle that I'm not a big fan of either!
What is your employment status/occupation and do your tattoos effect it?
I am employed full time at a hotel that I have worked at for 5 years. Unfortunately I have to wear long sleeves year round and keep my larger work covered up but other than that I wouldn't say that it really effects my job. They also tolerate the fact that I have a new off the wall hair color every few months so I cant really complain.
What is your favorite piece? What is the meaning behind it?
My favorite tattoo is probably my sleeve. I have an obsession with skulls so I really like all my skull tattoos, and have them on both arms. There is also a clock on my arm that I have there because I'm always late that I like alot, and a candle on the back side of my sleeve that was drawn by a serial killer! Other than the clock, nothing really has any meaning behind it its just a collection of stuff that I like and pretty random, just like me!
Do you have a favorite artist who you go back to or do you collect different artists work? Why?
I don't really have a favorite artist yet, but I have one all picked out that I want to work with next to get my cemetery back piece. His portfolio is amazing so hopefully he turns into my favorite artist! All my other work is just a collection of different artists, partially because I have moved around a bit. I like going to different places and experiencing other peoples creative ideas, because I'm am not creative at all!
Have you faced any specific discrimination due to being tattooed?
I have not been directly discriminated against yet, but sometimes when I'm out and about I get stares. Especially when I'm doing things with my children and am at a chorus concert or a t-ball game. I'm very involved with my children and try to do as much as I can to participate in there activities.
Any other comments?
Being tattooed has actually opened alot of amazing opportunities for me in my life and I plan to keep on going until I'm out of canvas!
