Out and About - Baker's Big Day Out.

It's been a while since my last 'Out and About' post and without a car our options for day trips are limited. So here is a (very image heavy) 'Day in the life of' post from what was probably our whole summer wrapped up in one day. Let me know if you like it. :)

Saturday the 13th of this month saw Blyth have one of it's mildest days yet this year, eventually, so Baker and I decided to have an extended walk and went on a 3 hour adventure.
I was firstly super chuffed that I was able to leave the house without a coat! Just Baker, his ball and my camera.
We headed through our new favorite spot in the woods and towards the beach, where I was very proud that little man played in the sea (properly) for the very first time!

It was all lots of fun, running around together and playing with his ball, until a very unprofessional Husky meeting ended up with around 10 of the dogs surrounding my little puppy. Of course I dropped to my knees in the wet sand crying, clutching Baker as soon as he managed to escape through a gap in the pack. My camera got full of sand, my sweatpants were soaking wet - it was all rather distressing. What made it worse was that the owners of the group carried on strutting along the beach laughing with no apology to me or any of the parents who had had to jump up and grab their children while these dogs took over!

At that point I thought it best to end our day out and head home, yet to my surprise my little star carried on running through the sand and playing with other dogs when we stopped to warn their owners about the group further down the beach. Heading back through the woods taking photos, it was even more apparent than usual that there are pretty much no signs of spring in the air at all! From the photos of brown pine needles on the floor and trees bare of leaves it looks alot more like autumn.
Arriving home I sat down to look at our photos from the day. Baker? He assumed his normal position at the spare room window doing his neighborhood watch duty before falling fast asleep about 5 minutes later!

  2. Shame on those Husky owners!! Grr, dog people like that make me so mad. We get the occasional one at dog parks around here. Baker is absolutely adorable, I love him. And your photography is gorgeous!

    1. It's a big shame, they seemed lovely dogs too but in a huge pack are obviously super intimidating!

And thank you so much :D

  4. What a lovely dog you have! I especially love the shots of him running through the water. If you don't mind me asking, how old is he and is he going to get a lot bigger when he matures into an adult?

    1. Thanks so much! I love those ones too :)
Right now he is only 8 months old and as he is a cross between a Border Collie and a Lurcher he still has a little height to gain - he should hopefully be fully grown in the next 4 or so months.
