Happy Sunday my fellow body art enthusiasts! I guess some of you may be wondering where this weeks awesomely inked interviewee is. Well, I'm sorry to say there isn't one and seeing as the interest level in participation over the past few weeks has dwindled dramatically I am regrettably putting the series on a slight hiatus.
Since it's inception in November of last year there have been 35 posts in the series all of which can be found HERE and the very first post, mine, (which is super outdated) is HERE!
For anyone unfamiliar or just not 100% clear on what Inked & Awesome is, it's simply a chance for visibly and/or heavily tattooed individuals to share their personality and story of life with tattoos, proving that the art on our skin doesn't mean we are all the same.
I decided to start the series after having encountered unfair treatment in the workplace as well as discrimination with the public due to my appearance - people are too quick to judge and stereotype.
So far I have had mothers, a Police community support officer, a carer and way more take part, all of which have proved themselves to be amazing people and alot more than just a delinquent rebel covered in tattoos.
In more recent months I have be backed by Bizarre magazine via their social networks as well as in email talks with Inked Mag's editor. Unfortunately both leads have dwindled and those who showed interest have proven to be let downs. This doesn't mean I'll be giving up or ending the series, however I will be taking a break and resuming in September of this year. I hope in that time I can start to rouse new interest and build a back log of interviews once again.
I would be so appreciative if you would be willing to take part, if not ask your friends, family, parents, siblings, colleagues, anyone inked!! It's simple, just email theSweetnessTalks@gmail.com and ask for more info.
You could also share the below image on your social networks if you were feeling extra lovely. ;)
Lastly, thank you so very much to all who have supported, enjoyed and most importantly contributed to this series thus far - you guys really are awesome.
