My Top 5 - Video Games For Non-Gamers.

The time has come for yet another list of 'My Top 5's! This time a handful of video games suitable for the girly gamer, shy of football and 1st/3rd person shooters. Enjoy.

In my eyes, the best game ever! I get bored and confused easily with games, unable to work out what to do next meaning never completing a full storyline. However this was the first game I finished fully, well Fable 2 to be precise and the glowing 'breadcrumb' trail was my best friend! Everything from the era it's set in, to the all star voice actors eg. ZoĆ« Wanamaker and John Cleese, compliment the quests and game play to win the game trilogy top spot on this list.

At first the whole Lego game thing just made me think 'Why? Lego is a construction toy I spent many of my early years building little houses out of, what is connection to video games'. Or something along those lines.
I then proceeded to buy the Harry Potter years 1-4 alongside my DSi (purely due to my love of the franchise) and literally couldn't put it down. I even took it to work to play on my breaks...geek! I completed it, enjoyed it and forgot about it, that is until Jake was looking for a game to rent from Blockbusters when we first moved in and I suggested the harry Potter 5-7 which we both played fully. Simple and entertaining - a winner with me.

Now this is where I'll probably insult true gamer nerds by saying that I'd never actually heard of Zelda until around 2007 oops! I was at someone else's house and had grown bored of the game I was playing on my DSi so lent Phantom Hourglass and thoroughly enjoyed it. I should really make an effort to get a hold of some of the older games to play though as this is another game completely matching my style of game play and one of the only other games I've played to completion.

Since the first time it was mentioned at E3, I've been a big fan of the whole theory behind the Kinect. I've tried out quite a few of the games too and the majority have been good fun - especially at parties. However this beats them all. Now I know you're probably thinking that I'm bias because it is Disney after all, but no. The mix between the missions and interaction with characters and the mini games within different 'rides' is perfect to provide lasting entertainment for even me let alone kids! Talking of kids, I actually think some parts of this game and most video games/kinect games in general are too difficult or not suitable for children.

Pokemon, yellow to be precise will forever have a place in my heart being the first video game I ever played. I can even remember the Christmas that I received my Game Boy colour. It came with the full accessory pack , all in yellow with Pokemon Yellow edition :) It's such a legendary game I'm sure there isn't much more I need to say.

There we have it, my top 5 games for non-gamers. I have and do play other games but these are the only ones I've had the patience to keep going back to. What is your favorite video game? Is it on my list?

  1. Love all of the Lego games, currently playing the Batman one at the mo! Another good one for girly gamers is the Professor Layton series for the DS.

Ah really? I don't have a DS anymore or I'd check that out, sounds pretty cool (just googled it haha).

    2. All the Lego ones are top notch - the Indiana Jones ones and Star Wars ones are awesome, but maybe not as girly. Hooray for girly gamers xo

  4. Yes! Fable! 2 was definitely better than 3 IMO (purely because of the whole 'royal decisions' thing kind of dragging on a little bit...) but definitely a good one for dipping your toe into the gaming world :D

  5. I'm a non-gamer too really, but I love all the Lego ones too, and Raving Rabbids too!
