Once in a blue moon I take the trip up to my home town, usually for a special event and now it's even more rare since my car died last April. However, it's sort of a tradition being there for my 'uncle' (super close family friends) Boydy's annual birthday barbecue! With my Uncle Sean unable to attend and therefore not travelling via car, Jake had to stay home to dog sit while I took the train up to Berwick-Upon-Yuck. He didn't mind though as his friend came round to keep him company, playing Xbox, eating pizza and drinking Monster energy of course.
I kept my appearance a surprise and turned up at the house, after a visit with my lovely Nana, to a great reception.
It was great to see and have such a warm welcome from the kids, especially Katie (the eldest who really can't be called a kid anymore) who is the closest thing I've ever had to a sister and I love that she refers to me as her big sister. Matt and Holly both took turns during the night doing my job and being budding Baileys photographing everyone. Actually the 2nd,3rd,5th,10th,12th and 14th photos above are the only ones I took and it's so strange to see myself in photos for a change. I think they did pretty well, don't you?! I adore the first one of Katie and I as it cuts out my awful teeth yet still captures our big smiles - Matt took that one :)
Lots of football was on the cards also for the future Newcastle star, I made a new little friend who just wanted to watch Peppa Pig videos on my laptop and we all choked with smoke inhalation from the chimea. Overall awesome family gathering. Hopefully next year my lads will be able to make it again.
