To believe or not to believe! Everyone's beliefs are different and I'm always receiving adverse reactions to mine so I thought I'd see if any of you out there share any with me!
I believe in the paranormal.
This I've found to be quite controversial and people like my other half can be very determined that it is all fooey! Alot of people who do not believe in a God consequently do not believe in the paranormal because of the fact that paranormal activity is supposedly caused by those who have not 'crossed over' due to unfinished business or are spirits stuck between levels. However I am one on the opposing side who's religious views clash with the theories of what spirits are.
I am 100% set in my religious views but have had several personal 'paranormal' experiences and alongside watching things like Dead Famous and Most Haunted am convinced that the spirits on this earth that show themselves are purely the ones who have had the bigger personalities. I think that after death the spirit departs the body and roams free or sometimes connects with a new being similarly to Reincarnation.
[After writing this I actually had another weird experience while at work, if you'd like a post all about my encounters over the years let me know in the comments!]
I believe in Fairies.
Ever since seeing the movie 'FairyTale: A True Story' as a child I have been convinced of their existence and it's not the fact that the movie is based on real life events that make me think so. Similarly to Mermaids, I think my reasoning for believing is that I just wish it were true. In the Tinkerbell Disney movies each new fairy is assigned to a job and together all of their work is towards getting nature ready for each season, I hope that is what happens and when I see a little red and white toadstool in the forest I always imagine it as a Fairy town!
I believe in Magic.
Probably stemming from my vast obsession with the Wizarding World that is Harry Potter, I love and fully believe in all types of magic. I know things done by performers such as Dynamo, Criss Angel, Penn and Teller and more are illusions but I'm pretty sure some of those acts include actual magic too. Sabrina the Teenage Witch was my first admiration of being non-mortal but after reading the Potter books my hopes that a secret world existed were cemented in my heart. My letter didn't arrive when I was 11 and of course I was gutted like most who are now probably embarrassed by the thought, I however am still upset that letter never arrived because it doesn't mean it doesn't exist - it just means I'm not a Witch.
I believe in Mermaids.
Perhaps not the fantastical storybook style beautiful Mermaids with shell bras and long glistening hair but defiantly some sort of sea person. I just can't imagine how the underwater world, which covers around 70% of our earth, cannot be home to some sort of human like creature. New species are discovered all the time so what's to say that there isn't a Mermaid world keeping themselves safe from human involvement?
This video is obviously a complete fake (although it was actually broadcast on Animal Planet) and there are many other false sightings and photographs, still pretty cool and intriguing though!
''Neil: What about Santa's reindeer? Have you even seen a reindeer fly?
Neil: Well, I haven't.
Charlie: Have you ever seen a million dollars?
Charlie: Just because you can't see something, doesn't mean is doesn't exist.''
