Tell me about your very first tattoo.
My First tattoo is slightly laughable, I got a Disney one. I love Disney so much, but nearly everyone laughs at it, but every time I catch it I smile so screw what everyone else thinks. I got it a few months after I turned 18 and decided to get it on my shoulder as it would be a safe spot with little pain, I was wrong I have no idea why it hurt so much but it did. Most likely because I didn't eat before hand oops haha. I've still got it and will probably keep it for the rest of my life, because you know Disney is great and to be fair Hakuna Matata is a phrase that I'd like to live my life by.
I've never had any problems with my tattoos so far as far as jobs go to be fair though they've been fairly easy to cover up.
What, if any, discrimination or bullying have you encountered due to being tattooed?
I've never been bullied or discriminated for my tattoos. I have been told upon a few occasions that they aren't very lady like and they make me look like a big of a rough 'un but that doesn't bother me too much. I do get called a Satan worshiper for my ankle tattoo but that doesn't bother me either haha.
I have a coupled of tattooed friends, most of the people I know with quite a few tattoos are male and I feel like their tattoos are more accepted if that makes sense? My family are fairly tattoo free! Aside from my dad and my uncle, my dad doesn't approve of the size of mine but he's never thrown a fit over them. My mam isn't huge fan or my grandparents but so far they like the ones I've gotten which is a massive plus.
Show us your favorite piece and talk us through it.
My favourite piece is my thigh, I absolutely love it. I've been planning it for years now, I'd originally planned on getting it on my ribs then I got spur of the moment one there so I decided on my arms but it ended up on my thigh and I love it there. I'm absolutely in love with it although as you can see from the photo it was fairly fresh! Haha. I absolutely love science, I'm actually studying to be a forensic biologist and was going to pursue a career in pathology but I've now decided to study diseases and help find cures. But still Biology is a major part of that and will always be a part of my life, I find everything about the anatomy fascinating. The idea first came to me when I was 14(?) and listening to a William Control song (you know it was the emo days leave me be haha) and the song Dorian Gray was my inspiration for drawing it up and although the meanings have changed behind it from being something inspired by a song to something that shows what I love and what I love in life.
Which tattoo of yours has the most meaning or sentimental-ness behind it? Do you think all tattoos should have meaning?
My ribs most likely, I'd just gone through an awful break up, I'd hardly eaten or slept and decided when I went to uni the following week I was going to get tattooed and that's exactly what I did. I love reading, I always (unless I've been for a night out) read for an hour at least before bed and Stephen King is my all time favourite author, the quote to me sums up reading perfectly. King really has a way of saying things in the best way, plus reading always reminds me of my grandparents and it's always there for something to do to cheer me up.
Are you planning anymore?
I'm planning so many more, I'd love to be completely covered but I doubt I will be. I'm planning on getting my other thigh tattooed possibly in September but most likely it'll be next summer, I want something similar to my other thigh. I want my other ankle tattooing also. I have so many tattoos just not enough money I'd say.
In one sentence what would you tell someone who asked, 'Did it hurt?' ?
Of course it bloody hurt, you're getting needles poked into your skin, you'd be stupid not to think it didn't hurt!
Leave us with some words of wisdom regarding body modification.
Oh gosh, I don't know! Urm. I think everyone should just let people have body modifications if it's not your thing don't do it, but don't judge others for it. I reckon when I'm about 70 I'm going to be the coolest fricking granny every so when you tell me I'm going to look grotty when I'm old you can suck one cause I'll look mint.
Thank you Kloe for such a brilliant interview! Everyone pop over to Skulls & Kisses and tell her how much you love her ink!
