International DOG DAY!

Yesterday was a special day.
My little man, best friend, child and pet, Baker turned 2 years old!! I cannot believe he has been in our lives for just short of two years already, but then again I can't remember life without him at all.
I've always loved animals but I never realized until I owned a dog the actual love and bond that a person could have with one.

Not only was it Baker's birthday but it was actually international Dog Day! A day to appreciate and celebrate a species that does so much for us including the following -
Military Dogs
Police Detection Dogs
Tracking and Hunting Dogs
Herding Farm Working Dogs
Sled Dogs
Acting Dogs

...as well as being our best friends! It is also a day to discourage over breeding, unnecessary breeding, puppy farms and obviously abuse, neglect and cruelty. I often get asked why I choose to fund raise for animal charities rather than the usual Cancer Research and the like but I'm sure all fellow animal and dog lovers will know. If you'd like to support my past fundraising events you can still donate via Just Giving.

Baker's Go Walkies sponsored walk event in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind - Donate here!

So today make sure to give your dog a extra treat and lots more hugs. Here is a little image I put together from all of YOU with your furry friends. Thanks you so much for contributing <3  Happy Dog Day Everyone!

The above fur buddies and friends are -
