Weekly Wondering // Week 51

I found this set of questions, '365 thought provoking questions to ask yourself this year', last year and bookmarked the webpage. After having rediscovered it I am answering 7 of the questions each week  until I complete the year.

357. When was the last time you felt lucky?
Everyday lately when I'm sat in this beautiful house, walking along the stunning river with my amazing dog, having such awesome parents and a truly perfect partner.

358. When did you first realize that life is short?

Goodness knows the first time but I think about it everyday. It makes me feel guilty when I have a lazy day of doing nothing.

359. What is the most insensitive thing a person can do?

The most insensitive? There are too many things to be able to pick just one! Anything that takes advantage of something that a particular person is most self conscious or worried about is always upsetting and uncalled for. This is too broad of a question to answer in this way haha!

360. What can someone do to grab your attention?

Shout my name?  lol Just joking. I'm not sure, it's pretty hard as I usually live in my own bubble and am oblivious to anyone around me. Maybe just be an exceptionally good person. Be the one that helps when no one else does.

361. What do you usually think about on your drive home from work?

I don't 'work' and I currently don't have a car so your question is invalid.

362. What’s one downside of the modern day world?

That there are no neighborhood communities anymore. Well proper ones. These days you have to make sure everything is locked up and secured, keep yourself to yourself and have those curtain twitchers who want to know what everyone else is doing.

363. What simple fact do you wish more people understood?

That there are alternatives to animal testing - use them!!!

  2. Danielle I love this idea!!!
You're right about pretty much all the above. I'm quite lucky were I love in that we all day hello & the little green behind us has monthly parties/BBQs for the estate we are on, it's lovey being in the countryside! Although it's mainly for those with kids...
I am looking forward to your next one now!

    1. Thank you! Glad you like it and oh that is so lovely! Theres nothing like that around here and although in our new area the neighbours are better than in the past, everyone just keeps to themselves.
My next one unfortunatly is the last one in this series! But there are 50 other weeks to look back on...

  3. One day it just hit me "Wow. I'm never going to live this day again." and "I could die tonight and that's it." I know, how depressing haha but it got me thinking about my life and how I'm spending it so whenever I have a lazy day I also feel guilty... I try to not have them much. :D

    1. Depressing but very true! Yes me too and I makes sure I either talk to or see my parents everyday because of that.

  4. 362 is too true! I love the internet as now I'm stuck at home a lot it's my social life of an evening, but, it would be nice if I felt confident that either one of my neighbours even knew my name! ;)

    1. Compared to our last 3 homes, people do actually say hello here...though I doubt theyd lend a cup of sugar and such if you get me.

  5. That first one is very sweet, and the one about a lack of community is very true and a little sad, I miss the safety of people feeling they can live happily together. Lovely post! - Tasha xxx

    1. Thank you :)
I've never experienced a nice community neighborhood but the stories my Mam has told me about how it was when she grew up makes me wish it was like that.

  6. I think even when people shout my name they don't really get my attention haha. I enjoy living in my bubble!

    1. Haha Then you get me! I have people message me calling me ignorant for not waving as they passed in the car and stuff...but to be honest I don't walk along staring at the cars!

  7. Yes to 363, I don't get why people don't get this yet. It's painful.
And you're so right about the lack of community, I notice it most when I catch a rare glimpse of the opposite side of it - like our new neighbours who always stop to say hello or give a big wave when walking past. So so nice.

    1. Thank you! It's so frustrating. I wish more people cared. I got made fun of from my ex co-workers for only using cruelty free stuff...they just didn't get it. :/

We have one or two who when we first moved in would always ask how we were getting on...now we hardly see a soul!
