I did however get to visit the homeland of cruelty free - Lush and pick up some of my everyday essentials that I had ran out of, my Imperialis moisturizer (the only thing that doesn't break me out) and the best face scrub/cleanser, Dark Angels. You can see I was a little silly and spent money I didn't need to on one of the only Christmas products that I could actually indulge in with not having a bath anymore :( haha
Primark has been a wash of impractical Christmas themed everything for far too long and although the jumpers are cute, I feel there are only really two weeks where it's fun to wear them...so Mam treated me to this cosy Mickey jumper, I grabbed a Mickey PJ top that I wear as normal clothing and a Hogwarts tee as I loved the grey marl burn out type of deal compared to the plain burgundy ones they usually have in.
Random purchases include a Deathly Hallows necklace (eventually!!) that I got from Northern based Down the Rabbit Hole and more classic dvds. I picked up #7 and #10 on our day in Newcastle and Jake got me #16 and #34 just for no reason because he loves me :) haha. I adore the Disney Movie Rewards system and take full advantage of any codes I get my hands on and that brings me to adding #50 to the collection!
However!! I am super annoyed that now, all of a sudden they have changed the covers of the dvds. I'm not talking about those waste of a tree cardboard sleeves either, because I pop them straight in the recycling bin, but the actual paper sleeve that is on the case. Just look how odd those two numbers look! Two out of 28 dvds. So if anyone fancies easing my OCD and stop my stomach churning when I look at my shelf, please get in touch if you would be willing to swap covers with me...
Then queue second train trip of the past 4 weeks after me vowing not to leave my hometown for a year after our awful travel experience coming home from Disneyland.
Dad, Mam and I had a family trip to Edinburgh with lots of photo taking, some fun exploring Camera Obscura and a tiny bit of shopping. I picked up some bits for a friend very belated birthday gift, got Jake some slippers after he stretched mine out and myself this cute as anything Highland Cow Cushion!
The beautiful little Christmas decorations were on a 3 for 2 at Tesco when we went to do a little food shop. Love a wildlife wonderland!
Last but not least is actually something the lovely and insanely talented Catillest sent to me! I get a few emails every now and again regarding collaborations and promotion for companies but 9/10 times they have nothing to do with me or my interests and it's so clear they haven't even checked out my blog. This is why Catillest stood out to me. Not only am I an advocate for the support of family run companies and small business like she has, Cat produces beautiful animal kingdom inspired illustrations, which you know is me all over, and she is supported by the Prince’s Trust, which to me proves she is one to watch.
I checked out her website (which is very cool and easy to navigate by the way) and actually took a long while 'aww-ing' over the super cute designs before saying that I would love to work with her!
The goodies arrived in adorable packaging, within just a few days and I was so chuffed to see it was one of my favorite images from Cat's site on the T-shirt. The print is actually very good quality too on super soft, Fruit of the Loom fabric with a great fit. I have to mention that it is a ladies slim fit style of tee though, not a usual plain t-shirt fit - so take that into consideration when ordering! FYI mine was a small and I am a size 8-10.
I want to send out a huge thank you to Catillest and urge you to check out all her beautiful designs. She also does custom illustrations which I think is such a cool idea and maybe if you are near London you will be able to pop by and check out her creations in person as she will be at a few Christmas markets this season.
