What We Got For Christmas 2014

I swear it was like, 5 minutes ago that I wrote up my 2013 version of this. I hope that time slows right the heck down so I don't have to write another for a while! Not that I dislike writing them or anything, but now more than ever I am realising how fast life is zooming past and I want to savour it as long as possible.
Anyways, you don't want to hear yet another person going on about how 'fast the year has gone', blah, blah, blah - you want to see what this post is about.

We'll start off with Baker, 'cause he's the one that matters most. Here is my boys Christmas haul!

It seems alot of you are already aware of our financial situation so I cannot claim credit for any of his fabulously thoughtful treats. (Minus the mustache thingy and a new bed - which are really thanks to those who bought calendars. Now you know where I spent the little profit I made :P)

A quick rundown of his gifts are as follows:
♥ Quacking Duckling and Patchwork Elephant from Barks and Bunnies, kindly gifted by the amazing Leona and Rex ♥
♥ Dentastix and Turkey Flyer toy, kindly gifted by my super lovely friend Claire. ♥
♥ A fab ball on a rope toy (not pictured, because someone was playing with/bashing me around the calves with it) from the ever awesome Rowan. ♥
♥ Christmas Hamper from Muddy Paws, 'Bakers' treats, Choc Drops and x2 of his favorite ever Pet Stages balls (not pictured) from his god/Granny. ♥

And although my amazing trip to Disneyland Paris was meant to be my only birthday AND Christmas gift my Mam and Dad still got me too many 'bits'! (Oh and Dad paid for our aerial haha)

Here's what I got:
♥ Rabbit Cushion and Rabbit Storage Basket from M&D ♥
♥ Soap and Glory Shower Puff, Hair Towel, Long Handled Brush and Face Wipes from M&D ♥
♥ Lush Snow Fairy, Honey I Washed the Kids Soap and Snow Fairy Sparkle from M&D ♥
♥ Vanilla Cupcake Yankee Candles, Ed Hardy Perfume and Boots Deodorant from M&D ♥
♥ Minnie Hoodie, Mickey Mouse Notebook, Make Mine Music & Treasure Planet DVDs (not pictured) from M&D♥
♥ Lots of sweeites! Hot choc and Mini Marshmallows from M&D ♥
♥ Disney Princess Fleece Blanket and M&Ms from Claire♥
♥ Awesome Tattoo Notebook from Rowan! ♥
♥ Dickies Wax Jacket from my love, Jake (yet to arrive) ♥

I'll of said this before and I'll say it a millions times more but I want nothing from anyone but their time, love and friendship. I cannot thank everyone enough for all the very thoughtful gifts though. It's one thing to give someone a gift, but a whole different thing to put the effort in and choose something that is exactly what they will love. I have the best friends ever.

"Christmas isn't about candy canes, holy, or lights all aglow. It's about the hearts that we touch and the care that we show."

If you know where that quote is from (without Googling!!) you are awesome. Give yourself 10 UtW points. Thanks so much for reading and I have to tell you how lucky I am to actually have this post up. See, my laptop has given up on me and I've had to travel to worlds end, through Narnia, Wonderland and friggin' Hogwarts to get this up on time. haha I HOPE I'll be able to have the rest of this weeks posts sorted too, but if I don't you know why!

Life Lately // December

Doing
Readying myself for 2015. This year really has seen us emerge from Underland to the beginings of our Wonderland and I'm hoping we can work even harder to persue our dreams in the following months. I'm ready to get straight back onto the job hunt and do what I can to make extra money so that we can begin to do nice things together and go nice places (Kielder again for example!), hopefully get tattooed alot more, as well as put more effort into my charitable work. Maybe another crazy event like my Skydive..hmm..!

Thinking
How much the festive spirit has changed in me since I have gotten older for one and lost my Granda. I'm not being a Scrooge or anything and it's not like I don't love giving out gifts and stuff but it really just isn't the same anymore. Maybe it's different for those with big families, or kids at least but apart from gift giving and a big dinner, it's really not much different to a normal day these days.
I have to say though, that I am so grateful for my Nana being well enough and have her wheelchair be able to fit so she could come and visit my house for the first time. Jake and I have lived in 4 different places now and this is the first time she has been to any. It was lovely having her here to have her dinner and see Baker give her kisses.

Loving
Our 'new' living room! In this house we have two rooms that can be described as living rooms and we've been using the extension one that is at the back of our house and open plan with the kitchen.
However I thought that our little tree was going to waste sat in an empty room by itself and with that room being smaller it would be warmer.
It was a little bit stressful shifting stuff though and switching wires but it's so worth it. I love it and can't wait until I get a new sofa and TV so we can have a sitting room each!!

Hating
How everything comes at once - and always in winter! Between phones breaking, internet not working and Baker breaking his bed, the last couple months loads of stuff that costs money or causes inconvenience has been happening. Not only that but for some reason the factory Jake works at has been (weirdly) up to date with orders meaning no overtime and therefore no spare money at the end of the month after bills... At Christmas time of all times, this isn't the best situation.

Other
- I don't think I've mentioned it but I put together my own photographic calendar this year and people actually bought them! It's so weird to think people are going to have my photos hanging in the houses. (Thank you if you were one of the amazing people to buy one.)
- The very last post from my 2014 Disneyland Paris trip was published! You can click HERE to see all of the posts in one place.
- Underland to Wonderland is now a .com!! (It's only taken 3 years and 32 days :P)
- I've realized over the past month how amazing the handful of friends I have are. They are all worth a million friends and are so thoughtful.
- For the first time in forever, I was asked to put together a guest post for someone. You can check out my '10 Reasons Dogs are Awesome' on Dee's blog here!
- And that's it. November and December have been quiet months for us...look out for the next Life lately in February!

This weeks word is - Christmas
Christmas? That one day that a vast percentage of the world has geared up for the past few months has been and gone in the blink of an eye. Sometimes it's the build up itself that is better than the event itself for a lot of people and as we have no young children in the family and lost loved ones missing from our table, Christmas Day really isn't the same for me anymore. I hope all my readers and fellow BGH participants have enjoyed the holiday and make sure to always let your loved ones know how much you appreciate their presence over their presents.

Disneyland Paris 2014 // Main Street USA

On a scale of 1 to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah, how much do you want to skip down that road and click your heels in the air ala Burt of Mary Poppins during 'Steppin' Time'? Exactly.
It's a completely idealic and magical view and even better seeing as it was early morning and had been raining!

So this post brings us to the close of my photo documenting, Disneyland Paris 2014 series and to say it's a shame is an understatement. It's one thing to return home from a place like that, experiencing the holiday blues, but it has kept me happy and enjoying the memories week to week editing these photos to share with you all. Now the blues are back with a vengeance
I look to others who seem to have an ever replenishing money tree growing in their garden, booking countless trips to Disney resorts year after year (sometimes multiple trips in one year) and I wish it were me. Then I stop to think and realize that the longer I'm away, the more I miss everything about it and in turn the more I appreciate it when I return. I may not be lucky enough to not work and still get to travel the world, but I will work hard to get back there, my camera in tow and show you all every detail when I get there.

So without further ado...welcome to Main Street USA.

Main Street U.S.A, in the Paris park, is the 1920's themed 'passage' you travel through to get to each land, full of restaurants, refreshment stands, boutiques and shops and home to the route of parades as well as old fashioned vehicles and horse drawn carriages (which, I'm sure you'll of guessed are not my favorite 'attraction'.)
I am a big fan of all things old fashioned, so to say and so mixing my favorite architectural eras with Disney is like heaven. The best welcome to the park ever for me.
As you can see, with it being Halloween, everything was decked out for the season, well and truly! There were ghosts dotted everywhere, sunflowers galore and lots of those super talented musicians that I mentioned in this post.

October has got to be one of the best times to visit the park not only for atmosphere and decor but for the weather, as we got to experience the sunrise on the castle, rainfall emptying the park, warm air for riding high into the air on Dumbo and chilly evenings to wrap up and watch the fireworks. Now tell me the American parks are better!

I don't think there is much more to say after the above image. So I'll thank you for following my Disneyland journey and hope that you enjoyed it. It's only taken me approximately 10 weeks to edit these photos and post them weekly without overloading you all but it's all over and done with now. I'm going to miss putting these posts together. However, I do have some great ideas to keep the Disney magic alive....

Oh and of course I still have my Disneyland Haul to come too ;)
