This weeks word is - Midnight
The only thing that I can even think to write is Cinderella, haha. Midnight is no longer the stereotypical 'late night snack' time to us, especially when you have or someone you live with has worked night shift. Midnight is usually bedtime, at least for me, in our house. Sometime Jake has only been at work 2 hours come midnight. And I know for sure we are never out of the house (apart from work) at midnight, any night of the year.

Question of the Week.

If you could change one law of your country, what would it be?
This is harder to answer than you would think because although it would obviously be to do with animal welfare, there are so many separate laws. If I could create one law that would cover everything it would be that no animals could be kept, used, farmed ect in inhumane circumstances. I am not vegan (and don't care if people eat meat etc or not) but I do think abattoirs, farms and the like need to be better policed for higher standards of animal welfare. There is no need to caused prolonged or extra harm to an animal and all should be allowed to have at least some standard length of life - not like calves who are sent for slaughter before they even reach 3 year old. The way sheep are tret in the making of things like disgusting UGGs is the most despicable thing I've ever seen, though that doesn't fall under our countries laws unfortunately. I could literally go on forever on the subject - you now my views on animal testing too.

  1. What a lovely way to round off your week, I enjoyed reading it! Also loving the amount of Disney in that 'watched' list :)

    1. Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it. And of course, always lots of Disney! :)

  2. Thank you again for mentioning me, Danielle! I'm so happy you liked my post.

'Weekly Reflections' is such a wonderful idea for a blog series - it can be easy to forget all of the little, day-to-day things which make up a life, so taking the time to slow down and consider the past week is a lovely way to make sure you don't take anything for granted.

I also love that you would change the laws surrounding animal rights - as an animal lover and vegetarian, I hate knowing how badly animals are treated for food, fashion, entertainment, etc., even here in the UK. I hope that laws will improve in the future to ensure the life of an animal is something which is treated with respect and dignity.

    1. You are more than welcome, I loved it.

It's so lovely to hear such nice things about this series, I really didn't expect it to be this well received and more just for myself but I'm glad others enjoy it too.

I wish I could be a Vegan and look up to anyone that is but I'm such a fussy eater that if I cut the meat I do eat (chicken) and things like cheese and milk, out of my diet I'd struggle to get any of the vitamins and minerals I need and I already have so many ailments! haha Either way there needs to be something done!

  3. Hi Danielle, thanks so much for featuring me and for checking out my blog! I'm go glad you liked it :)

I admire you wanting to change animal rights and even though I'm not a vegetarian I absolutely hate animal cruelty and completely agree with you!

  4. Despite the photo not being as high quality as you would have liked it's still a pretty beautiful picture!

I love that you've watched Aladdin again and congratulations on selling your last two calendars :)

  5. Congratulations on your selling your calendar Lovely!! Your pictures are incredible!

  6. That's awesome you went to the beach, I really want to go soon!!! Hope you have a great week :)

    1. We are sooo lucky to have so many beaches here, although no where as lovely as the ones near you!

  7. I know exactly what the answer is. I want them to legalise homlsexuality in India. Yep, under Section 377 of Indian Penal Code if two person of the same gender are in a sexual relationship, then they are punishable by law. I mean the whole thing is so absurd and inhuman. I believe every person is entitled to their own decisions and preference. Even their sexuality. I remember when this announced. Our whole country erupted in protest that gay sex should be legalised. It created so much havoc. But well, the Supreme Court stuck to its decision. I feel this is as offensive as anything can get.

    1. Wow. I had no idea that it was still that way in India. That truly is disgusting. Lets hope that one day, everyone in the world is free to live and love whoever they want. A great law to change.
