Exploring Berwick // Treasure Trail: Berwick Upon Tweed - A Murder Mystery

How long have you been a reader of this little world? Weeks? Months? Years??

If you were here in 2013 you may well be tuned into what this post is all about. Back then I won a blog giveaway from the beautiful Karen over at Tiny Bird Heart (do you know her? If you don't you should pop over...since then she's added to the family and the photo cuteness level is at an all time high - go say hello and tell her I sent you!). Anyways, the prize was one of these awesome 'Treasure Trails' and I fell in love with the concept immediately. At the time I was living in Newcastle so opted for Wor Jackie's Toon Trail and had so much fun having a day out exploring places you wouldn't usually go around the town.

I've always wanted to do another, they have hundreds of different trails for all over the country, so a few months ago while I had a spare £7 I got the Berwick one to save for a 'rainy day' (obviously not literally).
My oldest friend Claire and I are both into similar things, in the way of history and walking etc and what with Baker loving her it was the perfect opportunity for a catch up and a walk! It made for some cool photos of, again, places you wouldn't usually see or appreciate on your everyday trip to town - here are said photos.

[Warning - If you ever plan on doing this trail, these photos have spoilers of the locations of clues!]

We thoroughly enjoyed our trail and worked out the mystery by the end, though I have to admit we were pretty disappointed when it was over because we'd had such a fab time.
I've already made plans to collect and do the 4 that they have available for Edinburgh as well as the couple of others for nearby like Lindisfarne and Seahouses.
If you're interested in learning more about what they are (I'm rubbish at explaining so this is just easier) click here to be magically transported to the Treasure Trails website! Ooh Arrr. < That's me being a pirate. You know. Treasure...Pirate? Okay, I hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you have done one/would do one in the comments!

  1. Oooh this looks like fun! Any kind of exploring is fun for me though. Kris would like to do these things called "locked rooms" or "mystery rooms" where you have to solve clues to get out, but they kind of creep me. Plus, there's no exploring involved.

    1. SO much fun!! Whenever you're back in the UK you should do one - they literally have them for everywhere! (Maybe not everywhere, but lots of places!)
I've heard of those! And I'm kind of interested in them but I'm also petrified that it'd set my anxiety off haa.
