The Love / Hate Tag!

Probably the last person to get round to this tag, I was actually tagged by one of my favorite bloggers (and best support/commenters!!) the awesome Renee at Lose the Road and am obviously, finally getting around to fitting it into my schedule.

I make it sound like my 'schedule' is oh so important and busy, but in fact I'm just a super organized and particular person where my blog is concerned! For example, when I go away on a day out usually I take photos and/or visit enough places to make at least 3 (usually more) posts out of it...I still have a heck of a lot posts to get up from as far back as March believe it or not haha.

Anyways, let's avert that tangent before it goes completely out of control...

THE RULES
List ten things you love and ten things you hate.
Tag 10 other bloggers to do the tag next.

Pretty simple eh? Let's start.

TEN THINGS I LOVE

1. Appreciating and talking about weather.
You'd think I was a pensioner if you only knew my hobbies and interests.

2. Counting all the species of birds I pass on my short walk to work each morning.
See above. haha

3. Falling deep into the wizarding world every time, no matter how many times I read the Harry Potter series.
Maybe minus this. Do you know many old people who love Harry Potter?

4. Exploring with Baker when there is absolutely no one else around.
Me being socially anxious and Baker being rather timid when it comes to other dogs on walks, means that we appreciate our walkies time a lot more in the winter for example...when most people stay indoors.

5. Being able to share experiences like going to Disneyland, as an adult, with my best friend, my Mam.
Yep.

6. Reading and replying to blog comments.
I make little to no money from this blog, have not done a sponsored/paid for/review post in years yet spend a vast percentage of my time doing blog related things (editing, drafting, tweeting etc), so when I get comments from amazing people who have actually taken the time out of their day to tell me they enjoyed something, they liked my photography or tell me something about them I adore it!! I'm so greatful <3

7. Filming and photographing the little details in the world, that most people may walk right past.
If only I could make it my living ;) Just kidding!

8. Making food / Growing plants from 'scratch'.
I'm no expert...by far. But the satisfaction I get from seeing my pansys grown from seeds flower and sit down to a hearty bowl of soup, is pretty good.

9. Living with a man who laughs at my amazing humor.
I know I'm not funny but when I manage to make Happy McStinky crack a smile I know I've said something remotely humorous.

10. Not having many friends, but having good ones.
Never really been the popular type, or one to hang around with a huge gang of people. After leaving school you realize who your real friends are..as in you meet other people who share more interests with you while you explore the world. The ones that you pick up along the way and end up staying are the best ones to have. I'd say I have maybe 4 'proper' friends that I get to hang out with semi annually haha. Despite that I can still message them and have a chat like I saw them yesterday.

TEN THINGS I HATE

1. Littering. It's probably something that bugs me the most out of anything in the world. Smashing glass and leaving it on the street? Think that it might cut dogs paws. Dropping sweets/chewing gum? Ever though that birds will try to eat it, choke and die? Fishing line, plastic drinks can holders, tin cans, crisp packets? Animals can get stuck in them, cut by them, suffocated by them! PUT IT IN A BIN OR TAKE IT HOME YOU LAZY POO HEAD.
[See more information about how your selfish littering effects pets and wildlife here]

2. Drivers who don't indicate. Whether I'm driving or being a pedestrian, I cannot actually read your mind and tell where you are planning to travel to. Please let me and other people stay safe by using the skill you should have learnt while learning to drive.

3. The smell of coffee.
No, I don't like tea or coffee. It isn't a big deal like some people seem to think.

4. People who use the fact that they have issues in their life as an excuse to down on others.
I was told in school, by teachers and councilors who dealt with me during hard times, that the people who were causing my life to be a living hell were only doing it because they had 'family issues'. I know quite a few people from broken homes or myself who had a terrible time in high school, yet we don't take our bad times out on other people. Going through bad experiences is NO excuse to tear apart other human beings.

5. (Obviously) any form of animal abuse, neglect, hunting, over breeding, over working, rubbish ownership etc etc.
If I have to explain any of that then you must be new here.

(Have a photo of some properly cared for animals and one I rescued :D)

6. Noisy of children crying and screaming.
A well know fact is that I am not a fan of children. But what is up with the ones that constantly scream/cry (with no tears!) for no reason?

7.  Rude people who judge you based on age or looks (like my tattoos!!)
Ever been followed around a shop because you're a 20 something with visible tattoos? I have! Ever had someone stand, rather than take the last seat on the bus next to you because you dress a little different? I have! These among other things are the reasons I started Inked and Awesome and Who Do They Think You Are ;)

8. When Jake asks me to make his dinner but when I ask him what he wants, he answers with 'I dunno'...
HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW?!

9. (I am super struggling at this point, so thank you to AJ for linking this post for inspiration) The whole 'follow for follow' world.
Don't be so in-your-face rude as to follow me, wait for me to follow you and then unfollow! Just follow people you actually like or are interested in! That's what I do. I only unfollow if someone truly offends me or annoys the poop out of me by RTing stupid things 10 times in a minute.

10. Those people who have done everything you have done but 10x better...apparently.
You know what I mean? Like I did a Skydive for charity and when we were telling a family friend, instead of saying well done or whatever they were like, 'ah yeah? I did one over Australia, backwards, while DJing a wedding for two Kangaroos!' Maybe not that extreme but you get me yeah?

  1. I bloody love reading posts like these, especially when I'm sitting there like yep me too, yep, yep. You seem like such a genuinely lovely person.

I couldn't agree more with the hatred of littering. I recently saw a video of a Turtle with a straw up it's nose and it broke my heart. Things like that could be so easily prevented :(.

On a lighter note I love how close you are to your Mum. Now that I'm older I see my Mum as more of a friend and it's the best relationship to have, she's like my rock. I also enjoy cooking from scratch, I'm planning to make a thai green curry tonight eeek, wish me luck. I have no luck with plants so far though, they all die on me :( xx

    1. You are super dooper lovely for even thinking that I am <3 Thank you :)

Yes! I saw that too. Appalling. The thing is I don't think people even stop to consider thing like that. It needs taught in schools! Which is a bad job aswell because bloomin' putting your rubbish in a bin should be one of the first things a human learns!!

I do too :) We had a couple of years where we werent so close but after moving out and stuff we got close. We talk at least once a day...sometimes as many as 3/4 times lol.

You sound like a much better cook than me...Im just the basics :P

  2. I think the English and the Irish are obsessed about the weather! I spent a lot of time in Egypt a couple of years ago and I recall people looking at my like I had ten heads when I said "The weather is sooo nice". It never rains there so they couldnt understand why I would talk about the weather!

I also love growing plants. I've just collected my foxglove and lupin seeds from this years plants so I'll be sowing them soon. What are you growing?

    1. It seems so eh ;) We never think of it like that but I bet that was funny in Egypt lol.

Oh gosh I've just got the basics! Pansys and I did have sunflowers. I have a couple of other plants too but I've forgotten how to spell it so won't even try ;)

  3. I loved this because I'm nodding along with so meany of these! Especially the litter thing - my house is at the end of a street with about five takeaways and a huge supermarket and our street is always covered in crisp packets and plastic bags. :( Me and my mum go litter picking at the weekends but it shouldn't be necessary - especially with THREE public bins on the street!

    1. YOU are a super star! I did a beach litter sweep a couple years back and have wanted to do another just around the streets by mine for another but am going to wait until I have a car to haul the rubbish to the tip!

  4. Number 1 and 2 instantly made me laugh haha
I could not agree more with the littering!!! That is something that really gets to me. Just the other day we were in a drive-thru getting food and the person in front of us threw something small and orange right out of their window! (I found out it was a gatorade cap) DRIVE-THRUS HAVE GARBAGES RIGHT NEXT TO THEM! Ugh it baffles me how people can be so ignorant about such things! Anway! Absolutely loved reading this :) and thank you for the kind words!!

  5. I am also old before my time. I like noticing all the species around me including the trees whereas many people my age don't know/care. I love being a nature buff :) I miss my long walks in the woods with Pepé. Looking forward to being back in the UK.
My dad is in his 70s and loves a good bit of Potter. He read the books with me as they came out so yep we can be old 20somethings together and moan about crying kids. The sound just grates on you doesn't it? Haha.

  7. Thank you so much for the tag! I've had such a stressful day/week so this was so nice to be linked into, really made me smile - especially reading all your answers. I've got to say, I think my answers will be similar to yours except I bloody love the smell of coffee haha (but I don't drink it...I know - I'm strange)
I can SO relate to you on answer 8 of what you hate, my boyfriend does the same so I actually laughed out loud when I read that! I hope I manage to get this post written up before my trip to Scotland <3 xxxxx

  8. Brilliant! I love your love list!

As for the hate list, I am a coffee addict it is delicious, the smell of a new open jar of coffee nothing better! My hubby hates it, thinks it is foul!!

I started driving again in December after not doing it for 16 years (god I sound ancient again) and the whole not indicating pisses me off! Other drivers - arrrrgh!!

Totally agree with everything else on the list!

  9. I was nodding away while I read this! I honestly can't say how much I agree with number 4 from your hate list - that drives me crazy! I am so sick of people using any difficulty at home as an excuse to lash out and be horrible to other people. I actually found this so insulting at school, when bullies and chavs were excused for making other people's lives a misery because they had 'trouble at home'. I know plenty of people who have went through issues (I won't say the exact same, because I know every person and family is different, but near identical problems!) in the same way as these bullies did, and they are still the kindest, most considerate people I know.

  10. Oh I love this post - I agree with so so much! I'm starting to get into plants, although I killed a pansy in first year so I'm starting again with a cactus, maybe some 'erbs like basil and mint! And I am finally finding out who my true friends are, I guess I will continue to meet people throughout my life :)

I agree with basically all the things you hate! Except the smell of tea and coffee. I love tea, rarely drink coffee, but I love the smell of coffee! Yes I hate when people are like "oh my life is so fucked up that's why I'm so horrible" like well lots of people have been through shit and you don't see them taking it out on anyone else... I was so badly bullied at school and the teachers did nothing 'cos of the boys' doing it sister had passed away from cancer a few years before. It was awful, I knew her, she was lovely, but he and everyone else didn't need to do what they did to me.

And that point mixed with the 10X better one... I have a friend atm and she is exactly like that! Better than me and oh so competitive, but then if I'm having a bad day, if I'm busy and stressed, then she is 10X more busy and stressed!!! It's so annoying!!!

    I also dislike children.

Oh I thought about succulents etc but I think the dog would be far too interested in them. We were going to start our veg growing this year but it'll have to wait until next year now!

It's ridiculous and the more the teachers/adults use it as an excuses the people doing it play on it!
I'm glad you know someone the same and I'm not just being paranoid :P

  11. Awww, this is so cool! I'm so glad I've found someone else who loves weather, animals and Harry Potter as much as I do! And I hate littering too, it's the worst! Will get on this as soon as I can! - Tasha

  12. I completely feel you on the tea and coffee. I drink neither but also don't drink anything fizzy or alcoholic - this limits my choices to water, fruit juice/squash, milk and hot chocolate. People think I'm bizarre.

  14. I love reading posts like this! I do agree with you on so many points, especially littering! So good to meet like minded bloggers. I'd love to take my mum to Disneyland, i've been so many times and I know she'd love it.... it's just getting her there as she doesn't like trains or planes haha! x

    1. Thank you, so do I! :) Oh no, bless her. Tell her the train is fine and it's so worth it. I hate flying and will never do it again lol but the Eurostar is the best way to get there anyways.

  15. Aww no tag for me?! This is definitely my kind of post haha. We hate all the same things. I also hate, men who pee in public, people who take their clothes off in public for no reason (like, hello, it's not the damn beach!) and definitely littering.

I do love no having many friends, I love being an introvert and I love talking to myself (and choppy now that I have him)
