I'm gonna try to make this short and sweet because I had already written this out but accidentally deleted it all while editing just a word or two, then Blogger auto saved - boo!
Anyways, only two months after my birthday I've finally gotten around to doing my first ever Birthday haul. I don't know if I'll do them again in future, maybe just keep it for the 'big' birthdays, yeah?
My main gift from Jake was Laura and I's Disney on Ice tickets* and from my parents I got some of Love to Shop vouchers so I could get what I needed. Here is what I am very grateful to have been able to get for my 25th Birthday -
[*I did a whole post of my photography from the show so click here to see that!!]
Due to only buying DVDs, or most other things for that matter, when they are on offer or second hand it has taken quite a while longer than most people to build my Disney Classics Collection. (Really, who has £15 to waste on a disc?!) So it was fun to be able to take my vouchers into HMV and grab the majority of the last few I need - some of which were on a 5 for £20 hence grabbing Bedknobs to make up the offer too :)
One of the things that I spent the majority of my vouchers on was ink for my work printer as it's pretty expensive and it always feels better handing over a voucher than that amount of money for such a small thing haha. In the same photo as that you can see a book and Dvd that I grabbed in Poundland and a magnet to commemorate our time at Woodhorn.
Completely unexpected, not needed what so ever, but extremely thoughtfully I received gifts from 3 friends too. Yup, friends. I have some! :O
The cute solar flower for my car and the sentimental 'true friend' piece were from my friend Laura who also took me to lunch for my Birthday before we went to Disney on Ice. The oh-so-me bundle of bird theme goodies and yummy chocolates were from my oldest friend Claire - I got so excited about the handbook which not only helps to identify bird species but has space for you to take notes and add your own photos - and the, very unexpected, surprise little package with a homemade card and Lush goodie was from someone all you will know as Dorkface! Thank you all for thinking of me, you didn't need to <3
Whilst in Newcastle you have to make a stop in Primark! Well you don't, but I do as I see bits online that I want and what with them having no stores within 60+ miles and Primark not having an online store. (While I'm on that point - why don't they have an online store....it would make them SO much more money which is obviously the aim is it not?)
I picked up:
Faux Leather Mickey Backpack - £10
Sequin Daisy Crew - £12. Size 10 (wish I'd gone for the 8!)
Hakuna Matata Tshirt - £6. Size 6
Sequin Mickey Head Top - £8. Size 6
Last but not least an item that caused more bother than they were probably worth but I love them! As a long time Vans wearer (and I mean like 12 years) I was happy when the first collab was released, though as some readers may remember I only invested in one of the backpacks and a baseball tee as I wasn't keen on the shoe prints. However when the 2nd collection of prints was announced these had my name all over them. Long story short I ordered these in the 1st hour that they were available from an American store that claimed they were exclusive to them, however just over a week later and Schuh over here started selling the claiming they were 'exclusive' to them too and broke my heart that we'd paid more for them than needed. Lesson learned I suppose and I'm still very happy to have them. I had borrowed the money from my Dad and intended to pay him back when I got my wages but he was so kind as to say they were for my birthday <3 Thank you Mam and Dad for everything.
I guess I didn't end up keeping this short and sweet after all...
