A Closer Look at The Disney Book

If you haven't heard of The Disney Book and consider yourself a Disney fan, where have you been?! But seriously, as soon as it was announced for release, word was flying around of how amazing the 'Celebration of the World of Disney', by Jim Fanning, was and I knew it needed to be in my collection.
One of the main parts of my love for the Disney company is Walt and the history behind his journey with the brand in general, so if you are like me in that way and are interested in the ins and outs of the world of Disney, I'm pretty sure this is for you.

For those who may have not heard about it, have heard but not been sure whether to purchase or whatever else, I've snapped a few sneeky peeks through mine to give you an idea what to expect for what you pay!

The book retails for £18.99 though like everything if you shop around I'm sure you'll find it cheaper. I was lucky enough to grab it at £9.00 with free shipping when I spent £10.00 altogether (I grabbed another book too) on Amazon.

I think you have to agree that even at it's full RRP this book is far more than worth it! With 200 magical pages housed in the beautiful hardback cover I was extra surprised to find that they also include 3 film stills from Pixar's Brave - coincidentally one of my favorites of the newer Disney pictures - with every book too! I have no idea how I missed this fact but that alone made my day, such a special touch.

As you should be able to see from the tiny portion above, each page is packed to the brim with anything and everything you'd want to see and know. From timelines, to original artwork and old photographs it's a book you can come back to many times and enjoy. If you've been a follower here for a while you may remember a post I did on 'Easter Eggs' and things I mentioned in that post are actually talked about within the book too, (2nd photo from the bottom) which is cool.
For big researchers and and buffs you may not learn anything new from The Disney Book, but you will have something to treasure forever that takes you from day one right through to present day.
Oh one last thing too don't even try to argue that the Disneyland Paris, Sleeping Beauty Castle isn't the best one in the world...the book even says so. ;)

If I haven't been clear enough, in summary - just get it. It's still only £9.00 on Amazon!

    1. Ah thanks Amy! I took the photos as soon as I got the book in December and have had it written up for a while so thought it might not be as relevant anymore so I'm glad to hear you say that. :)

  10. I am ashamed, I am a huge Disney fan, hell I am a Disney Vacation Club owner and I did not know of the existence of this book. Disney has such amazing history so may have to waltz over to Amazon to investigate more! The one Disney book I would really like is the Art of Disney Parks it looks amazing.
