The 'Alice 1951' TAG

This post has been a long time coming! I actually started it well before the Alice Through the Looking Glass movie came out as I had planned to do a whole Alice week in the run up to it, however...not everything goes to plan!
I did an internet search to see if anyone had made an Alice in Wonderland tag and found a small one on this youtube channel which I have kept the first three questions from. However, I wanted this to relate solely to the 1951 movie and be longer for the sake of making a substantial blog post, so I dropped the other couple of questions and added 7 of my own! Pop over to their video if you'd like to see their other 2 original questions!

1. Who in Wonderland would you choose to be your best friend?
Perhaps the White Rabbit. He's as stressed and tightly wound as I am, plus I obviously love rabbits. He had a cool house with his own veg patch as well, just like what I want!

2. Would you rather be humongous or teeny tiny?
Tiny. I feel pretty invisible most of the time anyway, so walking down the street being tiny wouldn't be much different to how it is now haha. Surely if you were huge you'd be more likely to be targeted by others too? An easier target. Being small and unseen means some slight safety at least.

3. What would your personal Wonderland look like?
An Eden. Plentiful of mountains, flowing water, trees and wildflowers - filled with an abundance of amazing creatures and birds. No other people. No concrete or buildings or electricity or technology.
I would genuinely be ecstatic to live out the rest of my life somewhere like that. Even after just two days away in the Kielder Forest for our charity walk, I was very down coming home. I 100% belong in the wilderness.

4. If you could take one possession with you to Wonderland, what would you take?
This is really difficult for me as the only inanimate object I'm rather attached to is my camera. The only way it would make sense to have the camera would be to have some way of displaying or sharing the photos I took, which would either mean another civilization with technology or me returning from my Wonderland, both which don't sound up my street.
I suppose I'd take a book. A big one with a few different stories in to keep me company and entertained if ever I needed it.

5. Similarly, if you could take someone with you to explore, who would you take?
Baker. Hands down, no question. He's my son and the best friend I have ever had. He would be fantastic company, would enjoy exploring as much as (if not more than) me and also protect me.

6. Would you most enjoy: Sailing in a glass bottle or falling down the rabbit hole?
Both! For the sake of having to choose, I'll say falling down the rabbit hole as I've already done a skydive and I suppose that'd be similar apart from the fall down the hole seems to be in a lot more slow motion! That whole scene just seems super fun being right way up and then upside down and everything floating around as if you're in space!
I woudn't mind the bottle ride but I actually have a fear of open spaces and the sea freaks me out so the glass being clear and me being able to see everything around would be rather traumatic I think haha.

7. Minus the Red Queen, who would you least like to bump into?
The Walrus - he ate those super sweet oysters :( and I actually think the Cheshire Cat. His riddles and mind games would muck me about and mess up my mind so I'd prefer to avoid any extra stress from him.

8. In the garden, which type of flower do you think you would be?
Probably a 'weed' like Alice. I am not graceful at all or very pretty to look at. I don't have a particularly nice scent (I don't stink but am not the type to wear much perfume or body sprays) either. Maybe there is a wildflower that fits my profile haha.

9. Which of these locations would you like to call home: The Dormouse's Teapot, The Cheshire Cat's tree, The Red Queen's Castle, The Caterpillar's Mushroom.
As I said that I'd rather be tiny, I'm sure I'd fit in a teapot pretty well. I dunno how comfortable it'd be but at least it's sheltered, safe and wouldn't fit any visitors in :P Actually, the tree might be pretty cool for being small too if I was able to easily climb up to it... a lot comfier than china anyway.

10. What would you do if you had to stay in Wonderland for 5 years at a time or could never visit again?
Stay for 5 years at a time of course! I'd stay there indefinitely.

If you didn't know already, the 1951 Alice in Wonderland is one of my all time favorite movies from Disney's animated canon, so I really loved talking all about how my life would be in Wonderland.
The header photo was from my 2014 trip to Disneyland Paris and the photos with Alice, The Hatter and Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum were taken in the Walt Disney Studios park at Disneyland Paris in 2010! They were really cool interactions and Dee & Dum approached me from behind and started messing with me which made people watch...slightly embarrassing but it's a nice memory to have.
You can see more photos from Alice's Labyrinth from 2014 here, if you are interested and that is it for today :)

  2. I love this tag Danielle, you're always original and fun when you do these and I found myself nodding along to all of these questions and answers, except for your flower answer, I think you'd make a beautiful black lily (when you had darker hair) or a bright orange gerbera daisy / sunflower with your natural hair and because you're always so kind, helpful and sweet to me. Great post and I love your Disney photos too! - Tasha

    1. Ah thank you Tasha! I thought we'd agree on a lot of the points ;) Can we not start a colony in the woods for people who like quiet? haha be self sufficient etc! Get Kerri involved too.
Aww stop being so bloomin' sweet! That's far too lovely of you.
I'd love to see you do it too if you fancy it.

  3. This was so much fun to read! I, like you, envision my perfect Wonderland being full of flowers and waterfalls... I would be a weed too! But you don't want to be one of those flowers in the book... They were snobs! Claire X X X (ALC)

    1. Aw thank you! They were horrible weren't they. I guess it shows that pretty on the outside doesn't always mean pretty on the inside...

  4. This is great. I love how you just create new tags (same with the Harry Potter one) and I'm looking forward to answering the questions. I will definitely watch the movie again for this one and then listen to the soundtrack while writing it. Thank you for tagging me. :)

  9. Just hilarious! Thanks for a great big laugh. I remember reading the book at age 7 and saying, "What?" Cheshire cat was my favorite because he could disappear, which is a pretty cool superpower! I never saw the movie either, but I will now!
