Countdown to Disney 2016 // My Shopping List

9,417,600 seconds
156,960 minutes
2616 hours
109 days
15 weeks and 4 days

Just over 15 weeks? That's like almost 4 months...the stress is real! In this past month I have gotten a tiny notebook, small enough to fit into my travel organizer and filled it with the rough plan for each day including the choices of restaurants we hope to reserve for the week upon arrival and other things we have booked in.
The trains for our journey from here to London will be able to be booked soon and then that will be us all set apart from packing. Which I could have seriously done a million times by now...I love packing!
Anyways, another thing written down in my little travel notebook is my shopping list and that is what I am sharing with you now below.

Hotel & Year Pin
I actually think this is the tippty top of my list and if I couldn't get anything else on this trip, I'd make do with these. I don't collect pins or take part in trading but I like to have them as mementos and so get one with the year of my visit ie. 2016 and which hotel I stayed in on that trip, so this year that will be Sequoia Lodge. I'm super excited to get the Sequoia Lodge one this year as it's one of the prettiest hotel pins, in my opinion, haha.

Limited Edition or Special Soft Toy
This was on my list in 2014 too as in 2010 I got the most beautiful Steamboat Willie Mickey that is one of only 1000 odd made and I love me some limited edition stuff haha. I've always been the same and loved having something a little different that not everyone has but on our last trip they didn't have anything like that. I did, however, get a Jack Skellington Mickey which is why I titled this point limited edition OR special.

Gifts for Baker
Duh! Besides the pins, Baker's presents are the most important to me. With being with him all day every day it's quite the shock to the system for both of us when we're apart for the week. Luckily I don't go to Disneyland too often and I take a notebook so we can go on webcam most days <3
My point being, that I have to bring him back some presents. I'm thinking an Arlo as his main present, if they have any and a new mat for his bowls. You can see what I got him on our 2014 trip in this post here.

Clothing
99% of my wardrobe is Disney clothing, no word of a lie and I wear a something Disney, every day. I love the Disney fashion store in Disney village so will be hunting for some cool bits in there. My main wish is for a knitted scarf which I'll pick up on the first day if they have any as I don't plan to really take a scarf with me.

Christmas Ornament
Pretty self explanatory, really. Although we're not super into Christmas I try to collect a new Disney ornament to make the season a little less blahh. My fave ones are still the couple I have from my childhood but DLP has some super cool ones so we'll see what I bring back this time.

Other
Kitchenware: Spoon rest, trivet, chopping board. All things we currently need in the kitchen and they may as well be Disney!

I always get a magnet from where ever I visit, be on holiday or a museum etc.

There's been photos of some old school poster prints of the original DLP rides going around and I really fancy some of those as people who know me will know I prefer old things, so they'd be cool to display with all my other old stuff lo.

Yup! There we have my not-so-little shopping list. I'm not a big shopper or one to buy much new ever so when I go to Disneyland I allow myself a few treats...especially last time as it was for my birthday and this time will be just before Christmas!
To see what I all brought home last time, you can see a little haul here.

  1. I didn't actually plan to do any shopping on our trip haha. I never buy souvenirs and such when we go places. Maybe if I see something really awesome though, I might be tempted to get something. Maybe a keyring, that's usually my go to thing.

    1. Despite it looking a lot, I don't spend too much time in the boutiques. It'll mostly be in the Disney Village so in the evenings when walking back to the hotel or on our last day and stuff. You'll have to get something! I bet you'll be surprised at the sheer range of things there are!

  4. Ah, you must be so excited, it seems like it's not far away for you now! I won't lie, I would be bouncing off the walls at the prospect of going soon and I'd be planning, like you. Love the fact you said your wardrobe is mainly Disney clothes - I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves to see Disney making it's way onto clothes too! I love the pins that I've seen people getting when they go, and of course, I couldn't resist a soft toy either! - Tasha

    1. I'm not actually too excited yet. We've still a long time to go haha and the sooner the comes, the sooner it's over...which means it will be a long time before I get to go back!
Love a teddy lol! Baker does too.

  6. I am so excited for you, time flies by though! I am about to hit the 6 week mark and I am getting nervous and excited! I have done the same as you and bought a dinky notebook from Etsy where I have listed my plans for each day along with the ADR's. The one thing I like to buy is a Mickey, so far have vampire, star wars, magician so always looking for another plus I do love the Disney mugs!! Happy planning!

    1. I'm not that excited right now haha. Just scared how fast it'll fly by as I don't have the luxury of going multiple times a year like most people seem to these days. Oooh a magician one?! I wonder if DLP will have one with the new Mickey and the Magician show being on. I'm not a hot drink drinker so not so much use for mugs!

    1. I've only been in 1996, 2010 & 2014 but it seems to be becoming a lot more popular the last couple years! It's why I always go off peak in the hopes it's a little less crowded...One of the reasons I plan so much haha Thanks!
