OOTD // Mouseketeer

Could there be a better place to take outfit photos than Princes Street Gardens at 8.30am?! Unfortunately, as you'll see, because I'm so pale I constantly seem overexposed haha. I didn't want to retake photos as there were runners and people starting to make it all busier and I don't do photos in front of people (apart from at DLP obviously) which just makes me stressed and snappy at Mam. This was the day Mam and I went up to see Pete's Dragon in Edinburgh and goodness me, I still find it crazy to go outdoors with no hoodie or anything... though of course I still had one in my bag 'just in case' ;)

What I Wore:
Top - Disney Minnie Raglan T-Shirt, Vans.
Leggings - Black cropped leggings, Next
Dungaree Dress - Mickey Mouse Bandana Print Denim Dungaree Dress, Primark
Socks - Pink and Cream Frilly Sock, New Look
Shoes - Black Atwood Deluxe, Vans
Bag - Koolertron Green Canvas Camera bag/backpack, Amazon
Bracelet - Charm Bracelet with various charms, Chamilia

This actually marks the 12th monthly OOTD post since I started them up again! Each one contains Disney clothing (minus the one that is Harry Potter themed from my trip to WB Studios), showing how I manage to wear a little bit of the magic every day without being over the top or bounding.
These posts are just the tip of the iceberg and I have many more to come and might even try to do a few while away in DLP. I'd love a little feedback, so please let me know if I should keep them up and if it's something you'd like to see more of.

Baker's 4th Birthday

This absolute stunner of a boy has now been in my life (almost) 4 years! He was born on the 26th of August 2012 and we got him on the 7th of October, 5 days before my 22nd birthday. Every moment from then with him has flown and it is literally impossible to imagine my life without him. Our jobs are worked around being with him, our days out or rare holidays are planned with him in mind and my day - read world - revolves around him. He is my best friend ever and more recently, my unofficial therapy dog.
Anyway, back to the point, it was Baker's 4th birthday...evidently...and these are the photos from his party.

Luckily what started off as a dull but very mild day ended up beautiful sunshine. Dad and I made some dog safe banana muffins and I experimented with a mashed frozen banana and honey frosting for a couple of them. We won't make that recipe again. haha
Baker opened his gifts and two Barks and Bunnies boxes, one of which was extremely kindly sent by Kerri and Kris. Thank you both so much, it was far too kind and he love Aretha! He adores opening presents and was super confused on the Friday when he had none to open.
Next year will be the big 0 - 5 so I'll have to get the thinking cap on for a better cake and what gifts he can possibly need.

Thank you again to anyone who wished him a Happy Birthday. He is my baby as I'm not having kids so it does mean quite a bit to me that people understand my love for him :) Thanks again!
(Below is the video of him opening his gifts!)

10 Disney Movies I Haven't Seen!

You did actually read that correctly, Disney movies I have not ever seen. Ever. Some I have no interest in seeing and will eventually have to force myself to watch purely so that I can reach my goal and be able to say I have seen every Disney movie, but others I would like to see and just haven't gotten to yet. There are quite a few that are hard to find you know?!

Anyway, here they are. 10 Disney movies I haven't seen -

John Carter
I mentioned this in my '20 Disney Movies NOT for Kids' post, but I really couldn't be less interested in this. I own the DVD so really should watch it, but with it's apparent similarities to Star Wars I couldn't be less enthused.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Despite being a fan of many dog related Disney movie, I've kept pushing this one back. It doesn't sound the best story, but I'll get around to it eventually.

The Country Bears
Freaky looking subjects and a 4.0 rating? It's no wonder I haven't given this movie, based on the Country Bear Jamboree attraction at Disneyland, a watch yet.

Muppet Treasure Island
I really dislike all of these movies, I've never been a fan. I guess I just don't get the humor and the voices are annoying to me but out of all the movies on this list, the Muppet ones are some I will probably never watch - I don't class them to be Disney at all. True, the Walt Disney Company did buy The Jim Henson Company in 2004 technically meaning it is Disney but as they weren't produced by them... :P

White Fang 2: Myth Of The White Wolf
White Fang is a great movie, so I'm sure the sequel will be worth a watch as soon as I find it on DVD!

Too sci-fy-y for me. I enjoy some odd movies of the genre but I've never been drawn to this particular one yet.

Sounds pretty freaky to me. I like dragons, I don't want to see any slaying! Again this will be one that I just watch as I complete my goal and not because it particularly draws me in.

The Cat From Outer Space
Disney is great at doing far-fetched well, but a cat from outer space?! Despite it's strange title it does actually have a 6.0 rating on IMDB and my rule is if it has 6 or above, I'll give it a shot.

Napoleon and Samantha
Out of everything on this list, Napoleon and Samantha was the one I had never even heard the name of before last year and my goals beginning. It may well be the next I watch as it sounds a rather interesting plot.

The Misadventures Of Merlin Jones
The 60s was a pretty amazing decade for Disney movies, I adore so many of them. That alone makes me wonder how I haven't seen this yet. Personally, when I see the name Merlin I think magic, but this is scientifical magical.

Have you seen many of these? Which do you recommend? Please don't say Muppets lol. Let me know in the comments what Disney movies you haven't seen but would like to see!

My Life in Photos // August

I wasn't sure how long I'd been doing these 'day in my life' type of deals so I took a nosey back in my archives and it seems it's been a year and 8 months now! Isn't that crazy? It was fun to look back at August last year and see what I got up to! You can have a peek at it here if you'd like. As I like to try and show a different type of day each month, this time you have our trip to Edinburgh to see Pete's Dragon on August 13th!
Let me know how your August went and share you day in photos posts in the comments!

1 // Rise and shine! Packed and ready for the 2 mile walk to work!
2 // A nice sunrise, badly photographed.
3 // Work done and ready, waiting for the train :)
4 // Good Morning, Edinburgh!
5 // You can learn a lot of things from the flowers, for especially in the month of...August?

6 // With being so early into the city, we took a slow walk through the gardens.
7 // While there, Mam took a few photos for another OOTD post. Though as it got less quiet I cut it short.
8 // Did you know that the only hot drink I drink is hot chocolate? Did you also know I hate Starbucks? Their hot chocolate is awful! But there wasn't a Cafe Nero in sight. We had a drink & seat in the sun until it was time for our movie.
9 // It was amazing and I cried a lot. Go read my review ;)

10 // Back to Princes Street and on a Disney hunt in Primark. We didn't get as much as it looks. I literally bought 1 holdall and a pair of joggers.
11 // We like to be early. That means waiting.
12 // When you are in the quiet coach, it's meant to be quiet. It wasn't. We stood in the passage all the way home.
13 // We got a taxi back to my parents to pick up my baby boy from his day with Granda <3
14 // Retiring early to bed with a headache and Netflix.

So yeah, that was my Saturday. This was an extremely busy Saturday for me, a crazy one infact...and I was still in bed before 9pm :) Thankfully I don't do it often. Make sure to link me your day in photos in the comments!

Inked and Awesome // Siobhan Salter

Siobhan Salter
Age: 29
Occupation: Sales Administrator

Tell me about your very first tattoo.

I actually had two tattoos done at the same time; one on each wrist.  My heart on my left wrist and the anchor on my right wrist were my first ever tattoos, and I suppose a way for me to see how I coped with being tattooed.  I must have been ok with it because I've had another 4 since then!

Do your tattoos effect your job, have they in the past?
I have been in two separate jobs since getting my tattoos, and they haven't affected either of them. In fact they haven't even been brought up. I do think work places are starting to become more accepting of tattoos these days.I think people are starting to realise that a tattoo doesn't affect people's abilities to do their jobs as well!

What, if any, discrimination or bullying have you encountered due to being tattooed?
I haven't encountered any bullying or discrimination luckily. If anything I have received mainly complements.

Are your friends and family into body modification too? If not what do they think of yours?
My friends love my tattoos as do some of my family.  There are some of my family who aren't a fan though. They have never outright said it to me, but my Dad once said to me "I will never tell you what to do with your body, but I would advise against tattoos".My Dad is actually tattooed himself, which is why he would never tell me what to do, but from what I've been told he had his done after one too many drinks, and has lived to regret them, whereas mine have all been thought out, and I was very much sober when I had them done!

Show us your favorite piece and talk us through it.

My favourite has to be my teapot tattoo on my left shoulder blade. It's my most recent tattoo, and the one that actually wasn't planned at all. I went to the Liverpool tattoo convention in May this year, and fell in love with one of the tattooists work. I saw the teapot and it was love at first sight, but I was reluctant to just go for it as I'd never had a tattoo I'd never planned before. I walked away and then was worrying the entire time because if somebody else had the tattoo I wouldn't have been able to get it, so I went back and booked my slot to get it done. It has no meaning, it just holds a lovely memory of a day out for my partner's birthday, and I have an incredible piece of art on my body!

Which tattoo of yours has the most meaning or sentimental-ness behind it? Do you think all tattoos should have meaning?
The one that has the most meaning is my anchor on my right wrist. I had it in memory of my Grandad. He was in the navy in World War II, and for that reason I hold him fully accountable for my love of all things nautical. He was one of my favourite people in the entire World, and even now, 20 years on since losing him I miss him every day, so it's nice to have something that helps me to feel like I'm carrying a little part of him around with me all of the time.

Are you planning any more?
I'm a huge fan of Disney and would love a Disney related tattoo, but something really subtle. I'm thinking just a little hint towards Disney, like a mini silhouette of Minnie and Micky on the back of each of my ankles.

In one sentence what would you tell someone who asked, 'Did it hurt?' ?

I would say that some hurt more than others, but it's a pain you can deal with because you know something good is coming from it. Although I do think I have a pretty high pain threshold so I could just be speaking for myself there!

Leave us with some words of wisdom regarding body modification.
Your body is yours to decorate as you wish.  Don't let anybody tell you what you can and can't do with your body. As long as you're sensible, go to legitimate tattoo studios, and whatever you do don't let somebody tattoo you just because they're giving you a cheap rate. None of my tattoos have been less than £35.00, even the tiny ones because I was paying for somebody's skill and expertise. I know far too many people who have paid for somebody to do a tattoo for them because they're only going to charge them £10.00, for it to turn out absolutely rubbish! Remember this is going to be with you for the rest of your life.  It's worth the extra cost.

Major thanks to Siobhan for sharing your tattoo story! Please do pop over and visit Siobhan at and get to know her a little more. :) I wanna hear about your tattoos too, so make sure to send an email with the subject heading 'INKED & AWESOME' to!! Let me know if you enjoy these posts and whether I should carry them on for a 5th year in 2017.

How to Be a Disney Collector on a Budget

Many moons ago in a Disney collection or quarterly haul (my memory doesn't serve me well) I'd mentioned maybe I could do a post all about how I still manage to actively buy and collect Disney merchandise despite being pretty financially to say.
It could be said that many Disney fans you see sharing collections are pretty well off, or so it seems, as they take multiple Disney holidays a year and buy every single Tsum Tsum/Pin/mug that comes out, but the majority of us aren't made of money. You don't have to have a great paying job or have no bills to be able to still enjoy your passion.
Here are a few tips I have to buy merch on a budget!

No Expectations
Don't go out shopping looking for a specific thing, you will rarely find it. Just take what you can get on the day. I can't really say much more on this point but serious, don't go into a store with high expectations as you'll usually leave disheartened. Expect nothing and anything more will be a bonus ;)

I think the best and most common way to find Disney (or other fandom) bargains is by purchasing them second hand. From charity shops to antique shops, you can find awesome homeware, clothing, media and more. I personally don't buy clothing secondhand, but to be honest I don't buy much clothing anyway. When you think 'pre-loved' you often think worse for wear or not in good knick but if you have the right eye, I promise you'll come across some diamonds in the rough. The items I collect most and therefore buy most are DVDs and books and I have been very lucky to have gotten some fabulous scores! My favorite places to find them are CeX, Granger Games and any Charity shops that stock that kind of thing.
Tips - Always flick through books and check discs of DVDs for damage.
        - Find out what days the store puts out new stock and pop in on those days
        - For places like CeX, start at one end of the shelves and work your way along each shelf to spot the Disney logo!

Disney often puts on a 'buy one get one free' offer at least once a year, mainly on it's animated classics, which can be found all over the place (including most supermarkets), however ,you can almost always find some sort of special offers elsewhere. The likes of HMV always has the 2 for £10 or 5 for £20 deal and other stores do similar things so keep and eye for those and shop around instead of grabbing the first one and missing out on double the items for your money. This may sound DVD, book and CD focused, but it can easily relate to many other collectibles too!

Never spend more you can afford. This goes for life in general but is particularly important when collecting something that is special to you. How many times have you spent too much money in the Disney store? Or blown all your spending money within the first couple days at Disneyland? Exactly! It's easy to do. So whether you are shopping online, popping into the shopping mall or going on a Disney trip - set yourself a limit!!
Tips - On a Disney holiday, only take a limited amount of cash into the parks each day. If at the end of the trip you have money left over, then go buy that one thing that has been grabbing your eye all week.
        - For a shopping trip or 2nd hand store hunt, decide on a figure and don't go above it. For each CeX trip I allow myself £5 and if I find stuff that exceeds that amount, I put some back!
        - Conversely, you could just set yourself an overall limit per month. That way it stops you being tempted with online shopping, which is even easier to spend money on.

Don't Compete
If this is something you can't relate to, then that's brilliant because man, it can be frustrating. I mentioned a point in a recent post (Things I Hate About People) that 'one uppers' annoy me. Life isn't a competition and that means with your collections too. If you are buying and collecting pieces just to compete with other people and prove you can buy more than them, sorry to say but you are wasting your time and money. Collect for the joy of finding rare items, collect for the fun of the hunt and collect because you use/enjoy etc the items you work hard to find.

Shop Around
If there is a particular thing you are looking for and you know you need that exact thing, price compare! Type it in online and find everywhere that sells it, then purchase it from where it is cheapest. It's that simple.

Yeah, that is pretty much how and what I do to build my Disney collection. We rent a house and have all of the bills that come along with that. We have a pet who needs to be fed, insured and get new toys... ;) Once all that is taken care of it doesn't leave much spare for anything else but I do save the little bits for whenever a DVD, book or the like crosses my path.
I hope these tips are helpful to someone else out there who doesn't own a money tree! (And if you do have one, don't take this as a dig - this poor person is just bitter I don't know where to buy the seeds :P )

Kielder Charity Walk // Day 2, Part 2

Finally, only three months after the original trip, this is the very last post in my Kielder charity walk series. Please do pop onto the links below and see the photos which preceded these!

I've said pretty much all there is to say in the previous posts so we'll keep this another short and sweet, photo only post. Thanks for keeping  up with these posts and I hope you've enjoyed them.
At the time of writing this up (9th August), I stilllll haven't edited the video and I really don't know when I will...I'm not fan of editing haha. If I do eventually do it, baring in mind I only edited my 2014 Disneyland Paris video a couple months ago, I'll tweet it - keep an eye on @UnderToWonder ;)

If I look haggard above that's because I'd just walked 32 miles in around 10 hours, over two days and we were ready to collapse.
Every signpost we passed I took a photo of because we were itching to be there already, obviously didn't include them all in this post haha. Every mile felt double of what it really was and poor Dad had ruined his feet the day before so although he didn't complain once, it must have been way worse for him than me.
Luckily we had steady weather as in the sun and rain weren't playing the hokey pokey, and it was a pretty straight forward walk minus one tiny detour we ended up on. I know it was a difficult hike overall but I'd do it over and over if it meant I could stay there forever. Kielder holds a huge part of my heart and I won't be leaving it as long in between visits as we did this time.
