This is the penultimate Countdown to Disney post. Say whaaat?! As I've pretty much done all the posts I want to do and the last one I have saved for a certain topic, I decided just to have another little chatty/ramble-y kind of dealio.
My first post in this mini-series was back in May and just like I knew it would, time has flown. At this point, I'm not as organized as I expected (though still more organized than any sane person) as I'm trying not to be that annoying anal member of the holiday party with every moment scheduled. If it was just Mam and I, maybe I would be a little more crazy about it all but as we've done it all a few times before I need to step back, take my time and just enjoy it.
The stress has been building more and more as when I first went back to DLP as an adult in early 2010 there wasn't all this hype around the place. As it's grown in popularity, as has the 'blog community' now it's more likely to see someone you recognize. Disneyland is my safe place, I feel more comfortable and happy there than most places, perhaps only minus Kielder. I can relax, be myself, enjoy myself, not feel self-conscious or afraid, but now I kind of do have a slight feeling of all of that. I'm hoping the week I'm there is a good quiet lull in visitors. We are going off peek after all and it's after Halloween but before the Xmas crowds. Either way, it's my holiday, my one holiday since 2014 and only one for a while by the looks of it, so I have to make the most of it.
I'm making it sound like I'm not looking forward to it but with all my different ailments and issues at the mo I struggle with most social situations, so of course it's heightened with people that dislike me. I'm not stupid, I know not everyone is going to like everyone but it's obvious when you are left out and evidently not liked so who would want to lock eyes with anyone like that?
Excitement is a feeling though, otherwise why would I have made a chalkboard countdown or planning what clothes I'm going to take and stuff. Most of all I'm looking forward to seeing Kerri again and finally meeting Kris. Kerri, for someone I met through blogging...online.., has been an incredible friend to me so it'll be amazing to see how she reacts to one of my favorite places in the world haha.
We're also at the under-2-month-mark meaning we can see what attractions are going to be open or closed for definite. Obviously, I've known the major closures (as I mentioned in a previous countdown) for a while because we wanted to book our trip avoiding the main ones that we would miss. We are very lucky that these are limited to only one thing that I will actually be sad about, Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing, which is one of my favorite things at DLP. However, it seems there have been a couple more added to the list along with one of our newer faves, Ratatouille! Boo! Luckily it reopens on the 2nd and we leave the evening of the 3rd!
I don't think there is anything much more to mention so I'll end it here and November will be the final post until the actual trip posts start going up in January...eek!
