My 1st Disney Q&A!

I know I just posted my normal Winter Q&A a few weeks back, but I had the idea of doing a Q&A dedicated to solely Disney questions. It took a little while to get enough that would warrant a post but here they are. Thanks to those who stuck their thinking caps on and sent super original and fun questions! You can find their Twitter handle and blog next to their names, minus one which has an Instagram handle and blog link :)
I hope you find this fun like I did. If you have any Disney questions please leave them in the comments and I'll do another of these in a little while!

If you could only be a Disney Villain which one would you be?
So if you ask anyone that knows me in person, they'd probably say I have the temper of the Red Queen haha and I wouldn't mind living in Wonderland, especially in a castle but I'm not as nasty as her. I think, to be honest, I'd be a female Captain Hook. I've forever been interested in pirates and the history of all that jazz, plus he's really one of the tamer 'villains', doing nothing too bad (especially  toward animals :P) and his anger can be quite comical.

You can rewrite the ending of any Disney movie, which one and what are you changing?
Animation wise, The Fox and the Hound so that they can stay together?? That's the first one that came to mind. I'm also gonna choose a live action film - Tall Tale. I love it but I'm always sad during the last scene. I don't want to explain too much for people who haven't seen it...but I would like his friends to have been able to stick around if that makes sense haha.

If you could have any Disney character to be your sibling - who would you choose and why?
Oooh, probably the siblings from the Chronicles of Narnia as not only would I get to have two brothers (I always wanted older brothers) and two sisters after being an only child, I would also get to go to bloomin' Narnia!
Also, Jeremiah from So Dear to My Heart as he's a lot like me I think and I'd be the exact same being attached to Danny the lamb etc. :)

Is Disneyland Paris really as fun & magical as portrayed? I'm desperate to go, but I'm worried it'll be a disappointment/anti-climactic!
The short answer is yes and no. haha. It's what you make it, but overall it's wonderful. The best parts for me have always been the staff who are out of this world and the details (as in the architecture and decor theming), the worst part is other guests - they really are the only thing to ruin it. I guess what time of year you visit comes into play too, I would personally say to visit when you are most happy. For example, if you LOVE Christmas, go see all the Christmassy stuff and it'll get you extra in the mood. Me however I prefer Halloween and so my most magical visits have always been during that time. That is actually one of the mains reasons that I think DLP is the best of all the Disney Parks, because it has seasons. Don't you think the snow topped buildings and sparkly decor at Christmas in sunny Florida is just a bit weird?

If you could change the story and have any villain come out victorious (sorry!!) which one would be and why?
Dang it, this one is gonna take even more thought than the previous questions and I've already been working on this for hours haha. Hmm...I want someone who obviously has nothing to do with harming animals, ruling out Cruella, Scar and Gaston (hunter) and no one that would cause major devastation or loss of life, so, Jafar is out for sure.
I think probably Maleficent is the safest bet. The least risky of the bunch? I dunno! haha

If you could choose to live in any of the Disney worlds from any of the Disney films (can be live action or animated) which one would you choose and why?
You know I'm going to have to choose multiple options, I'm too indecisive for just one. ;)
Animated world - Peter Pan's Neverland. It took a lot of thought but it's benefits or good sides outweigh the scary/bad or whatever. Plus not having to age? Yes, please.
Pixar world - Brave. Obviously. It's the closest to what my perfect life would be and technically pretty close to where I actually live geographically wise.
Live Action world - I think Swiss Family Robinson. I'd love to live somewhere like that, though without the 'animal cruelty' if possible.

Who was your favourite character to meet (if you met any) this year at Disneyland?
We met a couple this year and were really lucky that all of our meets were brilliant! I wanna say sorry/thank you to Kerri for being such a good sport and getting into photos even though she wasn't keen at all. I appreciate what it's like not to like it and although she really didn't have to, I'm glad to have the photos.
My favorite meets were probably Mickey and Minnie on our last day where they loved my jumper and shoes and our meet with Jack as he is always great to talk to and bounce off of. Im not a big fan of meeting face characters so he is probably the only one who talks back that I enjoy haha. We discussed how I prefer Halloween and that my dog has his own Zero toy!

What was your favourite attraction / ride from you recent DLP trip?
Oooh great question as I got to ride a few rides I have either never done before or hadn't done in a while. I'm gonna say that I really loved Casey Jr. I could have probably done that ride over and over, but we only had time for 1 shot (5 days is not enough!).
Tower of Terror has to get a mention because it produced my absolute favorite photo of the whole trip despite being utterly horrible and I will never do it again. :)

What is your least favorite theatrical live-action Disney film that you've seen?
I only have one or two but the first that always comes to mind is 'Into the Woods'. I'd go as far as to say I hate it! Extremely annoying, repetitive and highly lacking in story. It doesn't even feel like a Disney movie. Oh and the Muppets movies although I don't properly class the Muppets or Star Wars as Disney because both's companies were bought in the 2000s after they were already established.

What are the best places to eat for a very fussy and basic eater, at Disneyland Paris?
Buffets! Hands down all of the buffets are the best places to eat in general, but especially for picky eaters (like me!). Most places will help meet your needs if you ask ie. choosing something that is suitable from a child's menu, leaving out an ingredient, substituting for soy milk etc, but still buffets will always be your best bet. You can see exactly what there is, pick and choose what suits your needs and eat as much as you want. You wanna just eat a plate full of broccoli? Go for it. I have!
Our recent trip we went with our good friends Kerri and Kris who are vegan and I think they successfully managed to have quite a few pretty good meals thanks to buffets. Pizzeria Bella Note was a winner too as they had little pasta pots and garlic bread!
You can check out my Vegetarian and Vegan eating at Disneyland Paris post here, but I may do an updated version including picky eaters if anyone would like to see it.

Is the food magical at Disneyland too?
I'm not much of a foodie, so stick to more basic places and the previous question is totally me (fussiest eater ever) but I know there are a few places that do do quite magical meals. If fancy is your thing I'd suggest having a peek at Auberge de Cendrillon and California Grill, you can see the menus/prices and more info on those and every other restaurant here, which is rather helpful!
I have to say though that there is a lot of stereotypical French cuisine served in DLP, which means you will often see Fois Gras and other equally horrific things on menus sadly.

Did you manage to get everything done/see everything you wanted, in the time you had there?
I love this question because those who followed my Countdown to Disney will know I'm an avid planner and list maker and had a bucket list, ride hit list and character meet wishlist (see them here). I am happy to say I managed to do quite a bit of what I wanted and only missed a couple of things that we probably could have fitted in if we pushed it. Panoramagique was one but it was so cold I think that would be better in Summer. Pulling the sword from the stone would have been awesome but I get nervous when people are waiting and watching so just skipped that. And I totally forgot about daily photos in front of the castle to get a good one. I did it 2 out of 5 days though.

That's all folks! Thanks so much for all the awesome questions. I'd love to make this a semi-regular thing so make sure to leave questions below, tweet them to me or message me via my facebook page. My Disneyland Paris 2016 posts are due to start on the 23rd of this month, there will be two a month (once every fortnight) and will go on for goodness how long because I took just under 2000 photos... o_0 Please let me know if you are looking forward to them!

  1. Oh I loved this! I am so looking forward to all of your DLP posts!! It looks like you guys had an amazing trip :) I really didn't like Into the Woods either! I found it quite annoying!

    Renee | Life After Lux

    1. Thank you! We did, it was lovely to be there with friends too. Yay! I'm not alone! It was super annoying!!!

  2. Awww, this post made me so happy! I absolutely LOVE the final photo of you all together with Mickey, too cute and your answers to the questions were great - I actually forgot I asked the first one about which world you'd choose to live in, haha, great answers though - I'd love to live in Merida's world too, it just looks lush. I've seen lots of videos of people meeting Jack too and he always seems to nice and friendly. Love your answer to the villain question too - I'd love to be a pirate as well. - Tasha

    1. Ah that is so nice to hear, thank you! Bears and magic and Scottish Highlands? Yep haha.
We can be pirates together ;) Thanks again for the questions.

  3. I really enjoyed this post!! Yay for 'Brave' world 😄! I'm a really fussy eater too, so it's good to know that it caters! Eating out at new places terrifies me incase theres nothing I like! I'm glad you managed to get pretty much everything done that you wanted to 😄. Love that tower of terror photo! You look suitably terrified haha! 😁 looking forward to your DLP posts! X

    1. Thank you so much! Ahaha, fussy eaters need to eat to eh? :P Yeah, I don't eat out a lot but I manage to eat quite well at DLP. Completely terrified, urgh! lol Yay, I hope you enjoy them.

  4. I forgot Into the Woods was Disney.
My husband could never get me on Tower of Terror - your comment & picture confirms my fears of it.
YESSSS to changing the end of Fox & the Hound!!! That movie tears my heart out.

    1. Right?! It doesn't seem Disney does it??
Haha good for you, stand your ground! Has he gone on it without you?

  5. Great Q&A and thanks for taking my question!

Into the Woods is your least fave live-action Disney film? Really...The worst live-action theatrical Disney films I've seen are 'Prom' and 'Old Dogs'.

I don't consider Star Wars movies to be Disney movies, but since Disney co-produced two Muppets films before they actually bought the company, I consider the Disney Muppets movies to be Disney movies. Basically, I consider Muppet Christmas Carol, Muppet Treasure Island, The Muppets, and Muppets Most Wanted to be Disney movies. And I don't consider the other 4 Muppets movies to be Disney.

Not a fan of the Muppets in general?

And I totally get what you mean about wanting siblings as I too am an only child!

    1. Thanks so much!

Oh I quite like Old Dogs haha, I have to admit, I haven't even bothered to watch just didn't look like something I'd enjoy so I skipped it. Maybe I'll watch it now ;)

Very true about Muppets, maybe it's just because I don't like them I wish they weren't related to Disney. I really don't enjoy them at all.

Right?! The only downside of being an only child!
      Thanks again for your question.

  6. Loved reading this! I didn't like into the woods either, watched half the film then switched it off. I would love to go to DLP at Christmas time, it sounds amazing <3

    1. Aw thank you! I think it must be an acquired taste :P It was good, but I much prefer Halloween!! If I could only go at one time of year it would be Halloween.

  7. I know I already said it, but I do like the Mickey photo! But I reckon Mickey looks the most photogenic out of all of us!

You could totally be the Red Queen haha! I think I'd like to villain more than a hero, they get to have all the fun. Actually, I'd like to be Cusco (is that how you spell it?)... I'd like to be a llama!

Ah, no problem about the character photos! It wasn't all that bad, just not my cup of tea. I should thank you for coming on the rides with Kris and I too!

    1. I got it printed and put it in my frame but I don't like how it looks in the frame! ha It is a good photo too so might have to put it in a different frame.

Right? You saw my wrath at Disney :P haha Lol! I guess you would make a good the best way possible.

Are you sure you don't regret doing Crush and ToT with my blood curdling screams? haha

  8. Aw I loved reading this! We just booked to go to Disneyland Paris for NYE and as it's been nearly 7 years since I last went, I am beyond excited. I love how careful thought out your answers were.

    Amy -

    1. Thank you! New year, this year??! Wow! That is spur of the moment, so exciting. I hope you have an awesome time :D It's best returned after you haven't been for a while - there will be a lot of new stuff for you to enjoy.
