A Day in My Life // January

Sunday, January 29th.
A Day in My Life.

For the first 'day in my life' of this year, I decided to do it on a Sunday, this Sunday in particular because it was the weekend of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch! Having taken part the previous 3 years, I had to take part this year too, but Jake was going onto night shift that night so was in bed...in the room I needed the window of. Soo, Baker and I took the opportunity to walk up to my Mam and Dads and do it with the birds in their garden. This was our day!

1 // Coming out of work to actually light? What is this magic?!
2 // I decided to walk home over the old bridge this morning in the hopes of better photo opportunities...there were none.
3 // As soon as I got in, I got changed and Baker into his coat...
4 // ...and then we were out on the frosty road again.
5 // It was even quiet enough for Baker to get some running time in! Yay for no other doggies!
6 // Finally here at the parent's house for the Big Garden Birdwatch.
7 // But first, a seat to rest our legs and some birdies on the TV instead.

8 // After putting out plenty more food to draw the birds to the garden, the Big Garden Birdwatch was underway!
9 // After a good hour or so of birding, I made the most of being in a house that had a bath haha
10 // The a little bowl of pasta for lunch while Baker ate his dinner, fueling our walk home.
11 // The view of our kingdom! We have to walk to the left of that furthest away bridge.
12 // We're home! Time for some chocolate milk and a movie on Netflix.
13 // Now it's time to feed myself and the other half. Homemade pizza with dairy free cheese and peas for me - yay.
14 // Photo editing until bedtime.

It ended up being a pretty awesome day overall. I will do a separate post on the Big Garden Birdwatch but overall the results were a little disappointing, which is sad for our birds, though I still had a good time. Also, I know it looks like I did nothing but eat and drink but I didn't and usually don't photograph my food.
Can you remember what you were doing on the 29th?!

  1. I love this idea for a post (mostly because I'm a nosy so and so who likes looking into the lives of others!) A whole lot of Mr B, birds and chocolate milk sounds like a pretty spectacular day to me.

    1. Oh I bet! Thank goodness I don't do photos for customers very often at all anymore...it's one of the reasons I stopped weddings! Yes!! I hope you do as it's soooo yummy! Let me know if you try it.

  4. Oh that final photo on your laptop is gorgeous, what a view! My birdwatch results weren't as good this year either, although, I spied some great tits and blue tits in my neighbour's garden yesterday so they are out there, they're just hiding! I think because my neighbour's garden is covered by hedges on all sides, it feels safer, whereas we have the corner house so it opens out more. Hopefully next year we'll spot more, but your results there look pretty good! I love a good bath when I've got time, it's always so relaxing. Love the sunrise in that second photo too, beautiful as always! - Tasha

    1. Thank you! That was walking home looking across all of Berwick! I wasn't keen on the colours etc of how those photos turned out so only shared the one haha.
Aw how lucky!! There isn't much range in species of garden birds here near homes but I have seen a few different things nearby at the river and stuff which is nice.
Oh a bath is the main thing I miss having in my house. The three main things I change would be the neighbours, the lack of bath and lack of garden haha!
      Thank you :)

    2. Ah, I'm terrible, I always forget to come back here, sorry! Oh it's so gorgeous Danielle, and yes, there's nothing like a nice bath after a long day. I definitely agree with you on the garden front too - I love being able to be near a green space, even if it's small - it's nicer than nothing. I always love your riverside birdwatching!

  5. I do love these posts - I'm so nosy! It's great that you took part in the Bird Watch again this year! And it's always nice to take advantage of a bath, isn't it?! That pizza looks yummy, too, by the way! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

  8. I genuinely think I'd be a less happy and satisfied person if I didnt have a bath in my house... I can see why you made the ost of it when you had the chance!
Your pictures are, as always, fabulous! x
