This Or That Summer Tag

I suppose after picking apart the downsides of summer in this recent post, I'd better get a bit of happy, peppy, positive summer 'vibes' (not a fan of that word, it makes me feel like a super uncool person trying to be down with the kids lingo) going.
The 'This or That Summer tag' is a fun either or post I found over on one of my favorite blogs, Life After Lux, so thanks Renee for sharing it and everyone make sure to pop over and give her a follow!

Ocean or Pool
To swim in it'd have to be pool as I have a little fear of being in bodies of water that I don't know what there is in it...if that makes sence.
I actually put my foot down in the sea when I was younger, thinking I was standing on a rock (an albiet smooth rock) and it moved. That beach was a known turtle mating site. I'm not scared of turtles but felt pretty guilty.
Another time we jumped off the back of a boat into the sea but I couldn't cope with the fact of how deep it was below and being scared of fish touching me. So long story short - pool.

Beach or Wilderness
Wilderness. Likely there would be less people there than our local beaches during summer and I don't like crowds of people. Green is my favorite colour too.

Watermelon or Strawberries
Watermelon because I really don't like strawberries! I don't quite understand the appeal.

Bikini or One Piece
Oh goodness, 100% one piece and how difficult it is to find one that actually covers you! It seems that these days they either have half your bottom hanging out, super low cleavage or slits and straps and stuff everywhere.

Lemonade or Ice Tea
Neither!

Grilled Hot Dogs or Over a Fire
Neither again! I don't eat meat.

Hat or Sunglasses
Sunglasses! I don't look right at all wearing hats haha. I do love a good pair of sunglasses though, especially with coloured lenses.

Windows Down or AC
If this means in the car, which it sounds like it does, windows down. If it means in the house, we don't have AC in the UK and opening windows allowed for flies to sneek in as well as all of the loud sounds so I'd just take my hoodie off instead ha.

Tanning Lotion or Sunscreen
I didn't realized there were different things?! I wear sun cream and a good high factor because Mr Sunshine is dangerous and we need to protect our skin.

Baseball Game or Concert
Younger me would have been all over a concert/gig but these days with dislike crowds I'd have to use the 'n' word again...neither! :/

Ice Cream or Popcicle
Both? haha It usually depends on the day and time, whether I'm more hungry or thirsty and stuff.
If I had to make a decision on which ice cream and which ice lolly it'd be mint choc chip if only basic flavours are on offer and plain strawberry or orange ice lollys!

Fireworks or Fireflies
Although I don't think we get them here I'd pick fireflies. I don't agree with fireworks unless they are at Disney - too dangerous. Oh and have you not seen the firefly scene in The Good Dinosaur?! Wow!

Flip Flops or Bare Feet
Oooh bare feet!!! If I was able to I'd go bare foot all the time. Fun fact: I really want to walk hot coals one day. :P

Water Balloons or Squirt Guns
Squirt guns if I had to choose, but when do we get the weather to actually play with any kind of water toy? I bruise just by looking at me so water balloons hurt me too much ha.

There we go. Thats was a nice little tag to get you in the summer spirit eh? I'm gonna go have some ice cream (Alpro Chocolate Hazelnut fyi) and then chuck on some sunglasses and head off to work! No proper summer fun when you're an adult who works a lot eh? Maybe we'll get the paddling pool out for Baker during my week off in September :)
I'd love to hear your answers to these questions aswell so feel free to do the tag and comment the links to your posts below. Hope you are having a fab summer!

  1. Yay, another green lover like myself! I only knew a few people who says green is their favourite so I love it when someone else shares that it's theirs too. And definitely fireflies over fireworks - they're so gorgeous and they light up beautifully! While I get the fear of the ocean, I also love it too, but I've also had my fair share of stepping on sharp pebbles and shells so I'm extra careful whenever I take a dip now. And I'm so glad you said swimsuit too and not a bikini, as I can't stand them! I much prefer a one piece for swimming and I feel more covered up too. Loved this post! - Tasha

  2. I looked online and Tanning Lotion is something that makes you tan sooner, I don't like that idea at all. I prefer the pool too. I nearly drowned in my early 20s in the sea and now I prefer the pool, where I know how deep the water is.

I said I'm going to leave you a link to the Disney quiz night: http://ancaslifestyle.co.uk/blog/2017/07/paladone-disney-quiz-night/ :)

    1. Oooh I get it. Well I understand what it is, but I don't really get why people do it. Oh no! Bless your heart, I bet that does make the sea pretty scary to you now.

      Awesome! Thank you :)

  4. I don't think I've ever worn a bikini in my life, and I'm pretty secure in the knowledge that that's never going to change! I like a nice factor 50 sun block too! :D
