Harry Potter 20 Tag

It's been like 2 weeks now since my last tag and so obviously that is too much and we are way overdue another [sarcasm]. Really, I didn't realize and wouldn't usually have them so close together but who is even that invested in this blog except me anyway?! haha
We are due some Potter content though, so I hope you enjoy my answers to this Harry Potter 20 Tag, in honor of the 20 year anniversary.

1. How did you discover Harry Potter? Did you read the books first or watch the movies?
In middle school we were taken on a class trip to our little local cinema (which has since been long demolished :( ) to see the first movie right as it was released. After I saw it I got all of the first four books and read up to date. All books from there I pre-ordered. I remember waiting for The Order of the Phoenix to come out and the shop was opening at midnight for people to pick up pre-orders...but I wasn't allowed to go because I was only 12 (13 in 4 months time haha) so my friends go a head start as I picked mine up in the morning.

2. Let's be honest, the Hogwarts uniform is looking a bit drab. How would you customize your uniform to show off you individuality?
Hmm, the uniforms don't bother me. This question leads me to believe that it was written by an American as the Hogwarts uniform is not too unlike many British school uniforms (minus the cloak obviously) and I'm not fussed either way. School isn't always the place for expressing individuality too much as it gives bullies easy targets. The uniform gives the impression of a united front and that all are equal, no matter what background you come from. Sorry for the boring answer ha!

3. Who would your ultimate Hogwarts Friends Gang be?
I've never been one for going about in a crowd or having a large circle of friends, so I'd be pretty stoked to just hang around with Luna or a likewise thinking individual from my own house, Hufflepuff!

4. If you were a teacher at Hogwarts, what class would you teach?
Care of Magical creatures, hands down.

5. If you could have any creature from the Harry Potter universe as a pet, what pet would you choose?
An owl. As I said in my The 'My Hogwarts Story' Tag  (shameless plug), I love birds and they are one of the most useful creatures in the Potter universe, delivering mail and such. Hopefully they'd poo on my muggle neighbours windows and stuff too lol.

6. You're Captain of the Quidditch Team, what would you name your team?
Pft, no I'm not. Far too dangerous for me ha.

7. What magical treat have you always wanted to try?
I did want to try Butterbeer but after trying it at the WB Studio Tour I won't be having it again - blurgh! I would stick with chocolate frog as how wrong can you go with chocolate, but it feels wrong eating something that is under the enchantment of being a live animal. :O

8. If you could invent a spell, what would your spell do and what word would you use to cast it?
This is a one to get the thinking cap on for...hmm... perhaps something to help make your mind up? You know for indecisive people *cough, me, cough* or when you need to make a non-important decision like which movie to watch, what to have for tea and stuff it would be handy to just whip out a wand a be like...'decisio' or whatever ha.

9. If your Patronus was an inanimate object, what would it be?
I've sat here staring at this question for like forever now because it's way harder when you can't choose an animal. My animal is technically a Dapple Grey Mare, though I'd say it was more like a rabbit. This is about inanimate objects though...ahhh. A clock.

10. If you could bring any Harry Potter character back to life, who would you resurrect?
HEDWIG dang it!!! Actually, Dobby. Yeah, definitely Dobby.

11. You've been given free reign of Diagon Alley and can have anything you want, what shop do you hit first?
Flourish and Blotts! All of the books please, except Gilderoy Lockhart's, the lying, self obsessed beggar that he is! And The Magical Menagerie would be on the list too, but I'd want to leave with pretty much all of the birds and animals.

12. If you could send an Owl Post to anyone in the Harry Potter universe, who would you write to and why?
The first thing that pops to mind is to Sirius while he was in hiding, to be a pen-pal and just a general friend so he didn't feel lonely. I know he contacted Harry but not often and it was dangerous, so surely he wouldn't say no to a letter or two.
Also - a howler to Voldemort hahaha.

13. (Warning: this is not real) If JK Rowling were to announce a spin off series from the Harry Potter universe, which character would you love to see as the protagonist?
Don't you reckon more background stories of the teachers would be fab? In particular I'd say McGonagall, Snape (duh), Sprout because she's my head of house and Binns & all the other ghosts too to be honest. Oh talking of head of house! It'd be cool to have stories about the founding of Hogwarts and the founders. Or am I getting far too deep into it?

I am not 100% certain where I saw this tag as it's been sitting in drafts for like 2 months, but if you click here you will find the video from the people who very first created it!
It was super nice to answer something with quite a few unique questions in for a change. Have you done it yet? If you have share the link to your blog post or video in the comments, if not I tag you!

  4. I'm glad you posted this tag, I'm looking around for some blogging inspiration and what with our HP trip coming up, this sounds perfect for that! I'll have to get thinking up some answers!

I'm with you on the uniform thing. I have always enjoyed a school uniform and have never understood everywhere doesn't have them. It's so much easier I think.

Time to put my thinking cap on and come up with answers to these questions! Although, they are definitely asked with the uber-fan in mind haha!

    1. Ooh I didn't think it'd be up your street but I can't wait to see what your answers will be!! Definitely a good one to get in the mood for London. It's literally only 70 days away now.

Right? I don't get whats wrong with the uniform. The cloaks jazz it up enough as it is.

  6. Loved this! I think Care of Magical Creatures will always be the subject I gravitate towards too, it would just be amazing, and of course I would hang out with you as a fellow Hufflepuff! I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't into Quidditch either, I'm not sporty at all, I'd be cheering on the sidelines like Hermione did instead! And like you, I love the Hogwarts uniform too. Also, loved your answer to the final question, a spin-off series would be amazing giving some background! - Tasha

    1. Yes!! We can teach it together! Or I'll be sub for when you're off haha. I feel like if I was actually there I wouldn't even go watch matches...which sounds bad but I never went to any of my school sporting events so... :/
We can only hope eh? haha
