''Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…. It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival. – C.S. Lewis''
One of the most important parts of life is a humans relationships with other humans. We don't need to be surrounded by people to thrive in life but the good times are heightened when shared with a loved one and of course, during the bad times, a problem shared is a problem halved. I'm one of those people who has never had a huge friendship group, I guess I go for quality over quantity in that department haha! But this post is dedicated to my little handful of stars that make life better just knowing them.
That being said, I don't get to spend nearly enough time with any of my friends. My best friend in particular lives an hour or so away (and up here it's not like you can just hop on a tube and be there, you need a car or money for a proper train) and I miss her a lot. She's had
“Send a card to a Friend Day” falls on February 7th and gives us all the perfect opportunity to get personal and send a beautiful handwritten card to our friends and let them know we are thinking of them.
The lovely Ellie (on behalf of Hallmark) who sent that perfect email also sent something else special...the cutest box filled with goodies for me to gift to the aforementioned best friend! I was so excited because who doesn't love to give their friends gifts? Especially when they need a little pick me up.
Alongside the wonderfully smelling candle, Paperchase pen set and other personal items that are my friend to a tee were some Disney Itty Bittys!! I'd previously only seen them in person on a shopping trip to Morrisons and even picked them up to look at them but as they only had Star Wars and a couple Frozen ones in stock, I passed. That's why I was extra hyped to hear what others they had in the line and you have to see how fab they look, especially Lady and the Tramp :)
Of course, Baker has his eye on them but these are too special. Sorry, little man!
The best part of the box (debatable, because the Itty Bittys are rather darn cute) was the range of wonderful friendship cards. When you think of greetings cards, don't you automatically think of Hallmark?? I know I do. I can't quite believe that they have been top of the game for over 100 years now though - that is impressive.
Obviously, I'm personally partial to the Disney range. I know some people even buy them just to frame because they are so pretty, and with a nice mixture of cards, I found some to suit all of my friends well.
I had a lot of fun sitting down to write little letters to some special friends of mine. Yeah, we all either have the odd message on social media, text or phone call, but sending a card that you have taken the time and effort to choose and hand write just shows them you've thought that little bit extra about them.
Will you be sending your friend a card this “Send a card to a Friend Day”??
I'm off to um and ah over which other Itty Bittys I want now...I'm thinking the Wizard of Oz range because Toto and the Tin Man are the cutest things ever!! Have a peek for yourself at all of the different types and of course the vast range of cards that Hallmark have to offer here.
Let me know if you already have any Itty Bittys already, if not which do you fancy?!
